Thanks said – on to the nitty gritty letter stuff!
First of all – DON’T PANIC! Seriously, I have no doubts that I will love whatever you write. Just the fact that you are writing for any of these fandoms/characters in the first place will make me ridiculously happy. Also, I just love gifts in general, so I’ll be chuffed to get a prize of any shape and size.
I know this letter will likely be ridiculously long and meta-y as again I love these fandoms, but don’t let that scare you off. If none of the prompts/like lists work for you, feel free to ignore them. The only thing I do ask is that my no-thanks list be avoided if all at possible. Other than that though, do whatever the muse tells you!
Yes, please: Post-apocalypse fic, slice of life/domestic fic (if you can manage both post-apocalyptic AND domestic I will bow to your greatness lol), teamfics, found family, crossovers (particularly any of these requested fandoms together which could be AWESOME), AUs (particularly coffee shop, Black Jewels trilogy, daemons, steampunk/neo-Victorian, Sentinel/Guide, Old West, and Pacific Rim fusions), outsider POVs, supernatural elements, badass chicks and men who respect/lust after them for it, fixit fics to bring back killed off characters, fics where characters have kids and are adorable parents. Also, I am a total music junkie so anything incorporating that would be welcome! Some of my current loves are Florence and the Machine, Ellie Goulding, Imagine Dragons, Bastille, Bridget Mendler, and Sara Bareilles. I’m definitely OK with an M-rating, and for smutty fics, I particularly love dirty talk, a clear top ordering their bottom around, hair-pulling, restraints/ropes/shibari/handcuffs/holdi
No thanks, please: Slave worlds, demon-possession, noncon, dubcon, character death, infidelity, characters de-aged during the story (if you make one of the characters a child, make them “cannonly” children for that story if that makes sense), A/B/O, wingfic, gangster/mob, noir settings, amnesia fics, loss of limb/amputations, mpreg, underage, genderswap, RPF. For M-rated fics, for triggering reasons I have to shy away from knife play/blood play/gun play (only in a sexual context – cannon level plot/action violence is fine), scat, watersports, rape-as-fantasy-scenes, anal, and any kind of direct blow in a sexual connotation even including spanking/flogging.
Also, I’m fairly picky about my slash pairings and actually haven’t requested any of the fandoms I slash in this year, so if you aren’t feeling any of the het pairings I mentioned, please go the gen/friend route with the story!
Hopefully that gives you a rough idea of my preferred types of fics.
Oh BTW and semi-random, since I hadn't considered it, but someone mentioned it - for treats I am TOTALLY OK with art, mixes, vids, anything else you want to do if you choose to give me a treat! I love fic and vids, but since I'm getting something of that nature in the main gift, visual pretties are always welcome for treating! *grin*
Also, optional details being OPTIONAL of course - crossovers are ALWAYS a fave of mine, so I'm definitely willing to see any request of mine crossed over/fused if you know multiple fandoms here. I came up with a couple specific crossover prompts below, but anything crossing these three fandoms would be a blast!
-At the end of the 4th season of Andromeda, Telemachus finds himself thrown farther than Seefra and ends up taking passage on Serenity. Does he bond with Jayne, or find himself intrigued by Zoe or River, or even take up a ‘business’ relationship with Inara?
-River and Leeloo – two bitty killer women with a slightly skewed view of the world. How do their menfolk (Leeloo/Korben and possible River/Jayne preferred) take the inevitable mayhem to follow?
-Leeloo was created as an avatar-type weapon (like an artificial star or even another missing member of the Lambent Kith) to destroy Hive ships. Korben’s former military service was in the High Guard, and his old friend Telemachus pulls him out of retirement at Trance’s suggestion.
On to fandom specifics!
1.Andromeda – Telemachus Rhade (fic or vid)
Oh Telemachus – he remains one of my very favorite characters on this show. The Nietzschean society as a whole was just so fascinating to me, and I loved that he came from a part of it that was firmly on the side of the High Guard on Tarazed.
I would be thrilled with basically anything with this guy – from a domestic fic with his sons and cannon wife Jillian (she was played by Colby Smuthers – how cool is that?), to the pair of them choosing another wife to joint their household, to musing on his genetic predecessor Gaheris and his betrayal, to an AU where Gaheris survives with Dylan and comes face to face with Telemachus, to friendship fic with the rest of the crew, to a smutty and/or romantic fic with one of his Seefran ladies (can be an OC) in the 5th season. Het or gen preferred please.
2.The Fifth Element – Korben Dallas, Leeloo (fic or vid)
Oh these two – how I ship them so, SO hard! They really are one of my fandom OTPs for sure. Leeloo with her delicate appearance, but absolute badassery, and Korben with his blatant ass-kicking abilities even though he’s so clearly tired with it all.
I would flat out love anything – anything at all. Post-movie domestic fic where they go on a real vacation. Intergalactic politics and how little Leeloo bothers with them. Meeting Korben’s mother because of COURSE Leeloo would want to even though Korben thinks it’s a horrible idea. Fighting the next big bad together. Seriously – just give me these two darlings doing anything, even eating chicken, and I will love you.
3.Firefly – River Tam (fic or vid)
This may be a River Tam focused request, but I definitely welcome all of the crew, I’d just prefer she take front and center. A ladies-centric fic would be awesome – we so rarely saw River interacting with the other women in the show, and I’d love to see that explored for this request. Anything from Inara dancing with her to Kaylee taking her under her wing in the engine room to Zoe kitting her out to go on jobs to all of the above just gathered somewhere talking and drinking and enjoying each other’s company.
If that doesn’t spark your fancy, I am a River/Jayne shipper, but I’d be happy with femslash for her, too. I definitely see River’s sexuality being fluid following her awakening back to her own sense of self. Taking a chance to relearn her body in a non-violent way could be an interesting concept to explore.
BTW, I've seen both Firefly and Serenity, as well as Better Days and The Shepard's Tale, but haven't seen any of the new comic line, so please stick with movie/TV cannon :)
