Fic Request Meme!
This was totally stolen from
seren_ccd
The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble of any pairing/character of their choosing. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. (If you absolutely can't write, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to offer drawings or icons or something instead.) Note: it will probably work better if it's a set of characters I've familiar with, but I'm even up for netflixing something new if need be. *grin*
I will be totally honest though, I'm on limited internet access, so the drabbles may take a few days, but they will arrive!

He wasn't all that surprised she was the one to finally find him out. For a while, he'd thought Jim might beat her to that dangerous knowledge, but he hadn't counted on Jim's fierce desire to keep his own secrets. Bones and his one time roommate and eventual Captain had come to a silent understanding: Bones wouldn't ask about Jim's tendency to hide food as if for a famine, and Jim wouldn't ask about the dog tags Bones sometimes wore underneath his uniform. As long as they both had something to hide, the truth could stay buried.
But Christine? She was a damn good nurse, hell a damn good scientist, and just as curious as one would expect a member of either of those professions to be. He'd had to take extra care to keep her from realizing just how rarely he slept or how quickly he could process seemingly incomprehensible amounts of information. He'd had to take after Jim's food hoarding habits so she couldn't count just how many calories his enhanced metabolism needed each day.
He'd certainly had to be creative to keep her in the dark.
Maybe that's why it shocked him so badly when she did finally realize he wasn't as human as he looked. Or maybe, he was just stunned he'd forgotten such a stupid tiny detail.
Jim had dragged him off on an away mission; it went about as well as they normally did, with all of the surviving members of the away team coming back covered in blood. For once, though, most of it wasn't theirs. Maybe that sheer relief was why he didn't realize just how badly one of the native's spears had mutilated the back of his blue medical shirt. It had hurt at the time, sure (and who the fuck used spears in this day and age anyway?), but once it healed, he forgot about it. And really, that spear wasn't the only one heading his direction, so he could be forgiven for having other things on his mind.
But to actually forget to change the damn shirt? How much of an idiot was he anyway? When he felt the hand on his skin and he'd whirled to see the knowledge dawning on her face, he'd literally been frozen in his tracks. Unable to come up with any words that might answer the questions in her eyes. Fuck if he could even come up with a decent lie, and it wasn't like he hadn't had practice in that over the centuries. He'd just stared at her, as she studied him in return. Finally she asked the one question that really mattered.
“Who are you?” He swallowed tightly, and closed his eyes for a moment gathering courage. Then he opened them, and told her what no one had known in years.
“John. My name is John.”
Wow, go me with the almost no dialogue drabble lol. Hope you like it hon!
