Wishlist 2013

Looks like it's getting close to that time again, so I thought I'd throw this up!  As always I am not expecting ANYTHING. Really, this is not a beg for gifts lol, just a fun way to share stuff/thoughts with people! I'm f-locking for that reason honestly. BTW, if you have something on my list that you can manage that would need an address, just PM me.

Oh - and link me to your wishlists if/when you post them guys. I'm low on cash this year, but I want to try to fill at least a few wishes if I can. *grin*

(P.S. I haven't sent out cards yet so if you want one just click the link: http://hiddencait.livejournal.com/91834.html

List instructions:

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 Christmas wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Ron/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use, do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

The List:

1. Imagine Dragons "Night Visions" album (thank you [livejournal.com profile] sourpony!) or  Brigit Mendler "Hello my name is" album - both are directly related to my writing brain. Imagine Dragons gets my brain moving not matter what I'm working on, and Brigit has become both my visual and audible muse for the Sleeping Beauty Redux I'm working on during and will be working on after NaNoWriMo. And physical or digital works for me - whatever way is easiest!

2. Fuzzy socks/slippers and/or fingerless gloves/arm warmers as always. I swear I can never have enough of these. Especially the fingerless gloves - I've noticed they help with how bad my wrists and hands get even during the summer when I'm writing a ton.

3. If any one's a vidder, I would love to see Karl Urban and/or Jeremy Renner centric vids to Bastille's "Pompeii" or Alpha Rev's "Carry Me Over Mountains" or the broadway cast of American Idiot version of "21 Guns." Seriously I can't even begin to imagine how to vid, but those three songs are so incredibly evocative for me. I'd love to see visuals with them!

4. Sherwood Smith books - I have no idea how I missed this young adult author, but I recently read two of her books and loved them. I already have "A Posse of Princesses" and "Danse de la Folie." So any of the others would rock.

5. DVD boxsets of anything you've seen me mention really lol. If you have something to give away that you'd think I'd like, just ask and I'll make sure that I don't have it or am getting it for Christmas. Oh! If said boxset is the North and South miniseries or better yet the BBC Elizabeth Gaskell collection, I would probably have a heart attack of squee lol. (OK so I gave in and bought myself a gift... I feel no shame lol)

6. Any kind of graphics/fanfic/mixes of any of my fandoms/OTPs/etc. Yall pretty much know who they are, but if you want something specific or don't know a fave character in a fandom, just feel free to ask as always. I heart surprises, but I am totally up for knowing they are coming ahead of time lol.

7. Home Depot gift cards. Like you would not even believe. This year, my man and I are basically asking for just this from all of our family due to some major purchases we really need for the house including sturdier blinds as the cat has destroyed ours, insulation in the attic as it was at the legal limit when it was built but actually is maybe a 1/4th of what the current recommended code is in Texas, a new front door and frame so that we aren't leaking AC, and an entire new bathtub as our fiberglass one now has a crack in the bottom and while patched may not hold very long. So yeah... the joys of home ownership and living on a budget.

8. Fanart of my personal fics. This right here is the reason I've been joining BigBangs - I freaking LOVE to see my stories inspire art. That is just the coolest feeling ever me thinks. If this sounds like fun to you - here's my AO3 to check out! http://archiveofourown.org/users/hiddencait

9. Anything costume related - my best chica and I do stock photography to be turned into photomanips/book covers/etc so we're always excited to get new pretties to play with. We're both about a 10-14 depending on the outfit's sizing weirdness, but smaller things have fit too. Accessory type stuff including hats and wigs are always welcome too. Basically - if you don't want it and/or need to make room, feel free to send it. I'll find a nice home for it in my stocker closet lol.

10. Weirdly enough, I am having a helluva time coming up with a 10th wish - I suppose I would just love to see some other wish lists get filled too. So if you see someone link their's here - maybe give it a look to? Seriously I cannot think of anything else I could possibly want that I don't have! That's actually a pretty darned wonderful feeling too. *hugs you all*

Hiya! I *might* be able to do the Sherwood Smith thing. I say might because...Well, last weekend, I cleaned my books out of my mom's storage room, and some of them were books out of the Wren series. I went through the boxes of books and threw out the ones in the worst shape. The rest of them were piled in my car (and they are still there!) I have to go through them again and see which ones are okay and which ones are musty (at first look, the boxes on the top were fine, but the ones on the bottom were not. I'm not sure which boxes the Sherwood Smith books were in.) If the Sherwood Smith books turn out to not be musty, you are welcome to them. (I had the first three books, but I can't remember if I found all three or only two.)

Also, yes, yes I do have a holiday list, too. :) I'm not sure if you've seen it, but let me go find the link.
Don't worry if there isn't anything you can do. I'm just putting it out there in case anyway wants to.
