It's that time of year again! Time for holiday card call outs!

Hey pretties! I just thought I'd drop a couple reminders of holiday stuff going on in my journal and out and around LJ - I know I've been getting tons of stuff in my Friends Page, so stuff tends to get lost.

Wishlists!! Send me links my dears! I haven't seen many this year, but I've tried to fill at least a small thing on each one I've come across. I have discovered I just really freaking love giving gifts, but I just need the oppurtunity to do so lol. Also, Yuletide fill is done and posted, but I am debating on doing treats - if you're on my Flist and participating and would like a treat specifically from me (anonymity be damned! lol) then just drop me a link to your letter and any fandom preference.

So, because I'm not going to be doing Fandomstocking, and I've somehow already finished my Yuletide fic, I thought I'd do this little meme again! Granted I realized as I was looking over the post from last year that I'd missed a couple, but I'm auto-prompting those to the top of the list. Otherwise, the first set of people to comment with fandom/pairing and prompt will be on my list to prompt! I'll be starting this probably on the 12th or 13th so everyone will have their mini-fics before Christmas hits.

First twelve people to comment on this with a prompt will get a drabble written for them in December (and my average drabble length is like 500 to 1,000 words, so it's a pretty sweet deal). Prompt any fandom, any pairing, any characters you know I know, and include the day you want it. I can get a little picky about prompts if I don't feel I could pull it off well for you, so I reserve the right to ask you to prompt something else if it's SUPER URGENT, but I'm generally very flexible!

Starting on December 12th (since I'll need time to write and won't be able to post right on Christmas), I'll be posting one each day for the first twelve days of December. I might extend the number I'll be accepting if I want to, or post them different days, but December 12th is when they'll begin!

If you want one, please don't hesitate to ask! Prompt can be pairing specific/crossovers/AUs whatever!

Looks like it's getting close to that time again, so I thought I'd throw this up! As always I am not expecting ANYTHING. Really, this is not a beg for gifts lol, just a fun way to share stuff/thoughts with people! I'm f-locking for that reason honestly. List instructions:

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 Christmas wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Ron/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use, do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Welp I'm off to use my rare Saturday off to try to get some family gifts taken care of since I'll be losing most of tomorrow for a funeral. And I know I didn't comment back, but thank you to everyone who commented on that journal about the death in the family. It really really helped - I just don't think I'm in a mental state to really face it enough to comment back. But yeah, love you guys. *hug*

How It Works:

Post to your DW/LJ (publicly or locked) with a list of ten things you want to receive for the holidays. They can be anything, from a personalized DW/LJ icon or drabble to a purebred puppy - as long as all the items on the list are things that you genuinely want.

If there's anything on your list that needs to come to you through the mail, make your shipping address available, but please be safe about it and don't post that part publicly - just specify how people should go about getting it.

Next:

Look around your circle/friends list for others who have posted the meme. (The more who do, the better this works, so encourage them!) If you see a wish you can grant, GO FOR IT. You might find a little thing you can do for free that will make someone happy, or you might just discover that a stranger is longing for the exact boxed set of DVDs that you no longer want.

Don't spend money unless you want to, and don't commit to more than you can handle without stressing yourself. There are no rules to this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. If someone surprises you with a gift certificate to the restaurant you never thought you'd get to go to, don't feel guilty or obliged to return the favor. The point is to spread around a lot of opportunities to grant wishes - use them as you see fit, and remember that your list gives those opportunities to others!

Tips:

Dream big, but stay practical. If you really want the Mercedes, put the Mercedes on the list, but don't forget that you also really want some feedback on the story you wrote - so put that on the list too. It's fun to imagine something huge happening through this meme, but we'll recognizes the unlikelihood of it and make sure our friends still have a chance to do something thoughtful that's within their means.

Put limits on yourself for what, but not who: if you've decided that you can spend a few hours drawing a picture, but none of your friends are asking for one, keep looking for wishlists - you might even make a new friend or two! Ask people to link their lists for you, and don't be afraid to post your own in a few places.

Let's make some wishes come true this year!

Whoo so I've discovered I have a serious problem telling my muse "no." Particularly when it's writing pretties for other people. At least it's a generous muse right? ... Right?

Anyway, I thought I'd give yall a glimpse of what I need to be working on if you seem me trolling around procrastinating.

Treats can be anything that strikes my fancy (pics of fave actors or pairings, one sentence fics, graphics, a few words why I'm glad tohave you on my flist, etc. etc.).
