It’s that time again! Bring on the holiday wishlist – let me know if you think you can fill any of these, and please link your wishlists here too! I don’t want to miss any of my friends’ lists :)

Step One:
Make a post. It can be public or friends only, whatever you're most comfortable with. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes, and these wishes can be anything - from simple (fan fiction written about your favorite pairing), to medium (a DVD you want), to really extravagant (a brand new laptop or car).

Just make sure these are wishes for things you really truly want.

Step Two:
Skim through your friends list and see who has posted their own wish lists. Then - and this is the most important part - if you find a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make sure that person’s wish comes true.

Sometimes a person's trash is another person’s treasure. If you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you’re never going to use, give it to someone who wants it.

Step Three:
Post this wish list any time after November 1st. Then repost it two weeks before Christmas.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday fairy - to spread the joy.

Gifts can be made anonymously or not, it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Some of these are repeats, but they’re things I enjoy all the time and can never get enough of, so don’t worry if think I might have already gotten it!

2015 Holiday Wishlist:

It’s that time again! I’ve really enjoyed this over the years – not even receiving presents (though man do I love mail and email this time of year!) but because I’ve managed to find things for friends that have turned out to make their holiday season better. That just makes me utterly happy to get to make someone smile that way. So please – link me to your wish lists. I generally try to fill at least one wish for each of my friends when linked over there. Also, I am NOT going to post my address here, but if you have something you want to send – just PM me and I’ll send it to you. J

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 Christmas wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Ron/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friends’ friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use, do it.

Wishlist is beneath the cut! )

So yeah, I think that’s my list for the year – if I go back and edit it, I’ll probably drive myself nuts doing it over and over and over, so I’m just going to stop second guessing myself and leave it as is LOL.

Don’t forget to link me to your wish lists guys – I meant it when I said I wanted to try to fill for yall too!

Looks like it's getting close to that time again, so I thought I'd throw this up!  As always I am not expecting ANYTHING. Really, this is not a beg for gifts lol, just a fun way to share stuff/thoughts with people! I'm f-locking for that reason honestly. BTW, if you have something on my list that you can manage that would need an address, just PM me.

Oh - and link me to your wishlists if/when you post them guys. I'm low on cash this year, but I want to try to fill at least a few wishes if I can. *grin*

(P.S. I haven't sent out cards yet so if you want one just click the link: http://hiddencait.livejournal.com/91834.html

How It Works:

Post to your DW/LJ (publicly or locked) with a list of ten things you want to receive for the holidays. They can be anything, from a personalized DW/LJ icon or drabble to a purebred puppy - as long as all the items on the list are things that you genuinely want.

If there's anything on your list that needs to come to you through the mail, make your shipping address available, but please be safe about it and don't post that part publicly - just specify how people should go about getting it.

Next:

Look around your circle/friends list for others who have posted the meme. (The more who do, the better this works, so encourage them!) If you see a wish you can grant, GO FOR IT. You might find a little thing you can do for free that will make someone happy, or you might just discover that a stranger is longing for the exact boxed set of DVDs that you no longer want.

Don't spend money unless you want to, and don't commit to more than you can handle without stressing yourself. There are no rules to this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. If someone surprises you with a gift certificate to the restaurant you never thought you'd get to go to, don't feel guilty or obliged to return the favor. The point is to spread around a lot of opportunities to grant wishes - use them as you see fit, and remember that your list gives those opportunities to others!

Tips:

Dream big, but stay practical. If you really want the Mercedes, put the Mercedes on the list, but don't forget that you also really want some feedback on the story you wrote - so put that on the list too. It's fun to imagine something huge happening through this meme, but we'll recognizes the unlikelihood of it and make sure our friends still have a chance to do something thoughtful that's within their means.

Put limits on yourself for what, but not who: if you've decided that you can spend a few hours drawing a picture, but none of your friends are asking for one, keep looking for wishlists - you might even make a new friend or two! Ask people to link their lists for you, and don't be afraid to post your own in a few places.

Let's make some wishes come true this year!

BTW, for my addie, just feel free to PM me and I’ll get it to you ASAP!

Wishes Under the Cut! )

So yeah, that’s my little list of things that would make me squee this Christmas – link me to y’alls so I can see if there’s anything I can gift for any of you!
