Something I hate: Scorpions. Just yick yick yick nope nope nope nope nope.
Something I love: Storms. I'm such a storm junkie. Give me lightning and thunder and driving rain, and I will sleep like a baby.
Somewhere I've been: San Diego, CA. Visited with my mom for a birthday trip - went to the zoo there and the wildlife ranch, and saw Moulin Rouge in theaters for the first time.
Somewhere I'd like to go: Sydney, Austraila. I've seen a lot of Europe but have never been to Australia or New Zealand. It's definitely on my vacation wishlist!
Someone I know: Man I actually have tons of "S" names in my friends now that I think of it. Amusingly enough, the first one that comes to mind isn't actually her name, but her LJ name:
sourpony She's a doll.
A film I like: Serenity!! Browncoats forever. I aim to misbehave!
A book I love: Definitely one of my more recent finds, but it was fantastic: "The Scorpio Races" by Maggie Stiefvater. Great job of blending myth and reality here, and the characters totally pulled me in.
An author I enjoy: Sarah Addison Allen - another very recent find. She writes southern set magical realism (think Practical Magic and/or Big Fish) with rich small town settings and a gorgeous cast. Just a delight. The first of her's that I read was "Lost Lake" over the weekend, and I'm almost done with "Garden Spells." Definitely an author worth checking out!
