This was a wonderful Yuletide this year for me with not one but two delightful stories in the comm! Oddly enough I didn't end up writing any treats at all. Granted I did my assignment and claimed two pinch hits, and have been writing little things for Fandom Stocking, so I feel like I still did a fair amount. Added bonus - all three of the stories have comments, though one of my giftees hasn't bothered to kudos or comment but has commented on other fics in the comm. Which poo upon them, but at least I know my other giftees are enjoying their fics :)

OK I'll admit this one was weird - it's definitely the most experimental smut I've ever written, that's for sure LOL. Hatter's voice took on a very Wonderland tone for me with this one - lots of alliteration and fun almost poetical rhythm to his phrasing.

So I had a BLAST with Not Primetime this year. There were a few flaily moments and a fic I had NO IDEA if my recipient would end up liking, but it turned out all to the good. And bonus, I got two fics again!

This one was EXACTLY what it says on the tin - lots of worldbuilding and paperwork, and honestly not a lot of plot all encased in my first attempt at writing for the Jupiter Ascending fandom. But I had a blast writing it, and my giftee enjoyed it, so I'd call it a success!

This was the one I was really nervous about - I had several rounds of second guessing due to pairings and amount of smexy times and doubts that I could write fem smut well and did I handle requested kinks well and and and and. Yeah, lots of worry, but I think it turned out well, and I got my first ever round of "copy and paste everything I liked" comment from the giftee so I am thrilled with it!
Oh BTW, it was Firefly with two pairings occurring pretty simultaneously with River/Kaylee and River/Simon. Still not sure how I managed to make it work lol.

I'd had a blast with my main pitch hit being for Jupiter Ascending, and when I was trolling Tielan's letter and saw she requested Aleksa, I knew what I would be writing right away. That said, Aleksa was a challenge to write for me. A math orientated person's mind is not my little English major's safe place LOL. Though I did feel a little chuffed pulling out the math geek title ;)

So I totally never saw my name hit the pitch hit list which is nice after the way it went a few exchanges ago. This time it just meant I got two gifts as a surprise which made me smile like a loon.

I have a feeling this was supposed to be my originally assigned gift, but it apparently turned into an epic on the giftee and they weren't able to finish it. Even so, I'm so thrilled with it! So far it's almost 8k of really gorgeously detailed Civil War/historical AU for The Hobbit Bilbo/Thorin with bonus Frodo. I love everything about it and can't wait for the next chapter!

Last and nowhere near close to least is this lovely ModernAU Harry/Hermione fic. The slow build towards a relationship just worked so well with these two, and I loved the crime-focused jobs for each of them. The whole AU just totally worked. Loved it!

So I had to drop out of

hobbitstory story again (Sorry about that

grav_ity - but I may just start posting individual chapters or something?) There was just no way in hell I could get a full story out by the end of the month. Not with the various original fic deadlines I had coming up for anthologies and such.

It's kinda a double edge sword right now: I'm so freaking thrilled that professional writing stuff is happening now, and there are some amazing projects I'm getting to be invovled with. But I'm really missing fanfic. I keep entering fic exchanges so I at least write some small stuff to help calm the urge to fic, but it's really not helping my longer fic wants.

Oh well - them's the breaks, I guess. Anyone maybe have hints for juggling the two? I don't want to end up feeling like I am missing out on fic entirely - it's sorta taking the place of original fic as my "hobby" so I have something writerly that I don't have to stress about perfection quite as much.

So I wanted to wait until treats were reveals so I could just post all three fics at once.

I ended up really having a blast with this fic exchange - it was a little small but totally as mighty as our MCU ladies are.

OK so I think I have talked myself into signing up for

couplesbigbang because I am clearly a fanfic-masochist (not that it surprises anyone!), and hey this will at least get me a minimum of 10k into my goal of 150k by the end of the year. So definitely doing it, but I am totally clueless about who/what I want to write about.

So thoughts/opinions/advices? I do think I want to do a pairing I haven't written a long fic for, so that throws out Dredd/Cassandra, Ripley/Hicks, and Cassie/Nick ala Push, but that still leaves a MASSIVE amount of pairings in my to-be-shipped list.

I kinda think I want to do an AU too...like maybe a Black Jewels AU? I have loved damn near every one I've read but I just haven't gotten around to writing one. Or maybe something else... I don't really know.

Man so TOTALLY not ready for the weekend to be over - I guess cuz Friday didn't really feel like a day off so much what with the dealing with car repairs and then the 3 and a half freaking hours for my first (and likely one of very VERY few) plasma donations.

So yeah, really would not go in to work tomorrow if I could avoid it, but I'm going out of town to seem my Kym on Friday and thus need my normal schedule un-screwed up.

Doesn't change the fact that I'm less than enthused but oh well.

At least one thing went really REALLY well this weekend - between yestarday and today I managed to go from 2200 on my Pushfic for

bigbang_mixup to 6300.

No really - 4k in progress over a weekend, and most of it was today. This is probably a record for me in terms of total word count kicking into gear.

And hey - it's only 7:30 in the evening. I could probably even get more done tonight if I get my brain calmed down again. We shall see aye?

So I need to try to work on my mixbangs today, but Jeremy Renner has moved into my brain and taken up residence. It's gotten worse as I stumbled upon links of him singing and playing the piano. Seriously I'm doomed, and he's joined the list of my favorite men.
