So, even though I only managed 79,993 instead of the 150k I pledged to write, I still managed 79,993 words this past year with the encouragement of:

So, I'm gonna do it again this year, same level. I'd love to hear if some of my LJ buddies join in! It really was hella encouraging and kicked my tail into gear on this writing front. I fully expect to do even better next year ;)

So my Writing List for the year (OK really just until May for several of these, but a couple are yearly goals too) has gotten a little nuts, so I thought I would write it down here so I can see it vanish as I mark things off. Plus some of you can help me being all accountable and stuff!

Also just as I wanted to keep track here - for my

getyourwordsout pledge for the year of 150,000, I have so far written 11,417. So yeah, I'm WAY behind, but I'm kicking my butt into gear, so hopefully that number will be growing signficantly over the next few weeks!

...In other news on a completely unrelated (or OK so somewhat related) subject - does anyone know if there is a Black Jewels AU BigBang anywhere? Preferably for later in the year? I ask because my CouplesBigBang plot is a Femme!Bilbo-centric Hobbit Black Jewels AU. The story has me totally excited, but it's definitely becoming less couply the longer I plot it out. Yes, there will be romance, but that's not so much the focus. Not only that, but it's feeling a heckuva lot longer than the 10k necessary, and even 10k was looking dicy with the current deadline. I could cut the overall story arc into 2 books I think, but the first book will have next to no couply moments at all. So it's feeling less appropriate for the BigBang I've signed up for.

So yeah, a Black Jewels AU Big Bang would really be perfect for it - I just have no idea if there are any out there. I'd say I'd start one, but I've never modded for anything like that, and honestly I just wouldn't know how to even begin doing so. So yeah - anyone got any ideas or input for me?

(And also because my wordcount was just painfully dismal yesterday...)

Still didn't make my 3k goal so I'm still behind but hey, not too far. I can catch up sooner rather than later.

So, I went 2 solid days without writing ANYTHING thanks so two nights of hanging out with friends in a row. Since when do I have a social life and why oh WHY did it decide to show up in November? Le sigh.

I did the math and in order to be caught up by the end of tonight I would need to write 5983 words. Yes you read that right. Pardon me while I have a mini-meltdown. *panic*

...OK I think I'm over it. So I did some more math, and if I spread it out, I can be caught up by the end of the weekend with just 3106 per day. Still fairly panic worthy, but I think I can do this. I think.

I'm gonna put in The Fifth Element as it seems to be my writing movie and see what I can churn out.

BTW, if you see me wasting time on LJ over the weekend, feel free to shout out "Write, bitch. Write!" until I behave myself!

Ended up focusing on another long overdue chapter in another fandom. Didn't quite get caught up, but I'm only 400 words down now, which is definitely progress. And considering this OC is blind and am writing the whole thing in present tense - it's DEFINITELY a work out of a chapter, so I'm pretty pleased with my 2k!

Decided to tackle a final death scene for my novel in progress, and it definitely took the heart out of me. Decided not to attempt anything else. Instead I cleaned and rented Fast Five because nothing cheers me up like an action flick.. and this was definitely of the epic of action flick fun. Lots of pretty, though none of them got shirtless which made me a little sad lol.

So I really had the best intentions, but despite them, I managed to procrastinate most of the afternoon away without writing a single word.

In my defense though: I worked 4 hours of over time, mailed a package, folded laundry AND put it away, did my daily drawing, had a phone call with Kym I needed to have, and napped. So really, I've done a lot today and checked things off my to-do list. The writing to-do list just got pushed to the side. But it's a little after 6ish and I don't have to work tomorrow. That gives me LOTS of late night writing time. I can do this!

So it's not as late as I thought I'd stay up, but I've started fading, and I figure better to wake up and dive into writing again relatively early. Plus I did accomplish quite a bit - I'm only 1k off of the over all goal now, and that I can handle.

So today was the perfect example of why it tends to be hard for me to do NaNo or BigBangs: I didn't get off work until 6 like always, then I had to go grocery shopping, which meant I wasn't home until after 7. After feeding my dogs and getting my own dinner, it was after 8 before I could finally settle down and get started ~~procrastinating~~ I mean writing...

...not as great as I'd hoped considering I'm already behind on the "required" wordcount, but better than I expected considering the crazy evening!

I've decided I'm going to keep a running tally here on what I managed to work on each day with individual wordcounts for each separate project, as well as the total count for the day. Here goes nothing!

So my grand total as of last night was 13, 622 on "From the Last to the First" so considering my word cound when I sent out the call for inspriation was 10, 888 I made considerably progress. Not as much as I might have liked to but still that's 2735 words over the course of the weekend.

So, my plan is to have the first draft finished by the end of August so that I can get it to my beta and have plenty of time for any re-writes and polishing.

I did the math, and I can complete 25k by then if I pull off 495 words per day. I can do this. I KNOW I can do this.
