Please don’t stress about this assignment. Just the fact that you are writing for any of these fandoms in the first place will make me ridiculously happy. Also, I just love gifts in general, so I’ll be chuffed to get a prize of any shape and size. I know this letter is ridiculously long as again I love these fandoms, but don’t let that scare you off.
If none of the prompts/like list work for you, feel free to ignore them.

No thanks: Slave worlds, demon-possession, mind control, prostitution, noncon, dubcon, character death, infidelity, love triangles/jealousy focus (I am far more fond of OT3ing it up), characters de-aged during the story (if you make one of the characters a child, make them “canon” children for that story if that makes sense), A/B/O, gangster/mob, noir settings, amnesia fics, loss of limb/amputations, mpreg, underage, gender swap, teacher/student stories, or focus on drug abuse or alcoholism. Regarding incest – I have exactly two sibling pairings that work there for me and I haven’t requested either fandom for this exchange, so please avoid that. Also, no parent/child pairings. Please no 2nd person or 1st person POVs (enjoyed them in the past - just not in the mood this year).
For M-rated fics, for triggering reasons I have to shy away from knife play/blood play/gun play (only in a sexual context – canon level plot/action violence is fine), scat, watersports, rape-as-fantasy-scenes, anal for M/F pairings, and any kind of direct blow in a sexual connotation even including spanking/flogging.
Yes Please: Post-apocalypse fic, slice of life/domestic fic, epistolary stories, teamfics, found family, crossovers, AUs (particularly coffee shop, Black Jewels trilogy, daemons, steampunk/neo-Victorian, Sentinel/Guide, Old West, and Pacific Rim fusions), outsider POVs, supernatural elements, badass chicks and men who respect/lust after them for it, OT3s, fixit fics to bring back killed off characters, fics where characters have kids and are adorable parents, 5 and 1 style fics.
I’m definitely OK with an M-rating, and for smutty fics, I particularly love dirty talk, a clear top ordering their bottom around, hair-pulling, restraint i.e.: ropes/shibari/handcuffs/holding partner down, wall sex, shower sex, cramped vehicular sex, biting/marking (without major blood being drawn), mate bonds, “OMG we didn’t die” sex, and “sharing body heat” leading to sex.
NOTE: I am VERY picky about my slash pairings and usually prefer Het except for a few exceptions which aren’t included in this request. If you are a slasher and not a fan of the pairings suggested, please go the gen route. I know my requests are pretty shippy, but I am ALWAYS good with friend/found family fics.
Optional Re Crossovers: Since I included it last year and would be on board this year too, I wanted to mention crossovers between any of these fandoms would be awesome if that’s your thing. I think the fandoms below could have some really cool crossover potential. No specific prompts this year off the top of my head. Feel free to anon comment if you think you’d like to do this and want more input!
28 Weeks Later (2007) (Single movie - no need to watch 28 Days Later as Doyle only appears in the second film) Doyle
This is my “Some Day My Fic Will Come” fandom. I’ve requested it for at least 5 different fic exchanges so far (at least twice in Yuletide I think?) but just never get fic for sadly. There are a whopping 33 fics total for it (with several of them being crossovers that don’t even include the canon characters), and I’ve written 2 out of that total. So yeah, would LOVE to get something for it, even if it’s as a treat and not my main assignment.
I loved this movie, and loved Renner in it. Most I have a competency kink and sniper!Doyle totally hit my buttons, as did the little moments of humor peeking out from beneath his soldier exterior.
The world building too was fantastic – I love the aftermath of the first movie, and how the different characters were working together to try to let people finally return to their homes (Even if that REALLY didn’t work out long term).
I enjoyed all of the nominated characters BTW, so I’d totally be game with them making appearances – I just want a story centered on Doyle.
BTW, my main complaint with this movie was that his death felt way too anticlimactic in my opinion, so yeah – anyway to keep him alive would definitely be appreciated. You certainly don’t have to write the moment that he’s saved though, even just having him have somehow survived off screen to rejoin Tammy and Andy, and even possibly Flynn in the aftermath of the second outbreak would definitely be awesome.
BTW if you are a fan of writing romance or smut, I also kinda shipped him and Tammy a little – but please have her be at least 17 to help me with my underage issues!
Hello – Adele (Music Video)
OK this is the first fandom ever where I’ve written myself a note to remind myself to nominate it for Yuletide. Obviously the song is a huge hit, but ever since I saw the music video I’ve DESPERATELY wanted a story for it.
Specifically some kind of ghost story. Maybe it’s just me, but that’s all I could think the entire time I watched the video (and during the subsequent rewatches) – that one of the two in the video were already dead, and they were trying to communicate “from the other side” (See what I did there? LOL). There was just such a gorgeously creepy vibe to the set and the flashbacks, and I’d love to see that explored as some kind of supernatural, ghostly tale. I’d also be game for a witch story maybe? Just something that embraces that sense of otherworldly-ness
In any case, there are no fics for this video at all, so I’d love to see what someone could come up with. And I wanted to make sure I had a 5 minute fandom alternative in case we match on another fandom but my optional details are completely off from what you enjoy writing!
Northmen: A Viking Saga Asbjorn, Inghean
Yet another shippy, shippy request but I can’t bring myself to care LOL.
Tom Hopper pulled me into this teeny tiny fandom (No really – there are 4 fics. FOUR. And I’ve written half of them LOL) after Black Sails moved him to the top of my fandom boyfriend list. I gotta admit, it’s such a terrible movie objectively, but it totally appeals to my love of questionable action movies.
We get all the Tom Hopper biceps you might hope for in his character (and the lead) Asbjorn, though sadly he never takes the shirt completely off. As the leader of the exiled and shipwrecked Vikings, he’s awesomely competent and has mad chemistry with the one female lead (in the entire film sadly), Inghean. She is a Scottish princess the Vikings kidnap in hopes of ransom only to discover her father prefers to see her dead than pay for her safe return. She also is the source of the one fantasy element in the film: an earth sense that warns her when the group is in danger.
All in all, I just desperately want a post-movie fic with these two. The movie ended so very abruptly, and there was so much more of the story hanging. How do they all survive the long boat? Do they ever find safety? Is it at the Viking encampment they hoped to find? Will Inghean and Asbjorn EVER do more than stare at each other longingly? LOL
Oh! And since one of the few other fans mentioned it, I would definitely be intrigued by the thought of an OT3 with Conall-the-ninja-monk, but I definitely don’t want a fic where either of my requested darlings aren’t happily involved in the romance or are involved in an affair.
Black Sails Billy Bones, Abigail Ashe
(Oh hey Tom Hopper stars here again – is anyone surprised? LOL) Oh these two! This is definitely a shippy request, but as always I will happily take gen friendship or survival stories for the pair of them, or gen for either of them separately (Though I will say stories about Abigail would be preferred as she has so few in the fandom. Also if you write separate focused fics for either Billy or Abigail, PLEASE don’t pair them up with anyone else. I can occasionally read/write other pairings with these two, but they are definitely an OTP for me. The only thing I’d enjoy more would probably be an OT3 including Charles Vane, but that would be it!)
Anyway, I’ve babbled about them at various fandom locations, so here’s a copy & paste of one of my recent manifestos for them. (BTW, yes this is long, but holy shit I love these two and can’t seem to keep my babble short LOL)
This is one of those “blink and you miss it” ships - literally, they are on screen together for all of a minute practically, and don’t say a single word to each other, but are giving each other look after look the entire time. Added bonus, Flint & Miranda both seemed amused, and actually encouraged Abigail’s crush by telling her Billy’s name and life story.
Really, I’ve got as big a crush on Billy and his utter Hufflepuff competence as Abigail did, and the pair of them REALLY appeal to my massive height kink, too LOL. But she also caught my eye in a big way when she showed up. A complete contrast to the other women on the show in that she’s still very much a proper gentlewoman, the kind that even Miranda never really was. She’s young and sheltered, and understandably naïve, but despite it, still manages to hold her own. She has a quiet, but remarkable strength of will, I think. Abigail saw the very worst of the pirates on the Fancy, the kind that would reinforce every story her father ever told her, and yet, she still is willing to open her eyes to the men behind the monsters once aboard ship with Flint’s crew. She’s survived horrors by the end of her short arc on the show, and it’s clear it’s starting to give her a backbone. She unflinchingly confronts her father, and I have to respect her for that. Plus there was that really fascinating response she made to Vane when he told her he’d cut off Ned Lowe’s head: that “Good” was so terribly bloodthirsty for a sweet, sheltered girl. I want to see more of that steel in her.
So yeah, there seemed like there could be a chance for more interaction there that was sadly passed by. I’d just love to see more interaction between them. In particular, I think the story line after the end of Season 2 left us in a great place to have them bump into each other later – Abigail will eventually need to get back to London, and the seas clearly aren’t the safest place. Maybe Flint and his crew chance upon her on her trip home during a raid. Another fun option could be an AU where Billy really was one of the men she comes across back in London – who might he have been if he was never taken? Who knows – the possibilities are endless!
At this point there are only 24 fics for the pairing on AO3 (and I’ve written 4 of those LOL) out of something like 1050 for the whole fandom. These two NEED more fics.
Kate Daniels Series – Ilona Andrews Derek Gaunt, Julie Olsen
OK so I discovered Ilona Andrews books (starting with the Innkeeper Chronicles actually) about a month ago and have devoured basically everything I can find by the author since then. Considering there are 14 books & novellas in just the Kate Daniels series alone, that’s saying something. So far, the Innkeeper tales are actually my fave, but I was so caught up in reading I didn’t even think about nominating it. That said, considering at least one of Andrews series crosses over with the Innkeeper verse, I certainly wouldn’t mind some kind of crossover to that verse here too, though obviously that is definitely only an optional detail.
So on to the request! There are some truly fantastic characters in the Kate Daniels series, but the two that I really want more for right now are Derek and Julie. I love the hints of slow build we’re getting for them, and I can’t wait until Julie’s finally old enough to get past Derek’s determination to see her as a child and therefore not possibly a mate option (which after that novella we ALL know is BS LOL). So yeah, I would love her aged up and continuing to take on her role as Herald and the power that it entails, allowing her to be confident enough to claim her wolf and be done with it. And Derek, oh Derek honey. I just HURT for him so often in this series. To have suffered the things he has and not only keep going but become even more loyal to Kate and Curran is just … gah I can’t even with this boy, I swear.
BTW, I am still waiting on my copy of MAGIC BINDS to show up, so it’s possible there are shippery spoilers I don’t know about to mention here yet. But I will DEFINITELY have read it by the time reveals happen so please feel free to set the fic during or post that most recent book!
Another optional detail here that would appeal to my love of outsider POVs while also keeping the feel of the series: I would totally be on board with a fic from Kate’s POV but about Derek & Julie, if that makes sense? Even a conversation between her and Curran about “the kids” could be a blast. Basically, I’m game with anything in this world, but I want it in some way to be centered around Derek and Julie.
Confident - Demi Lovato (Music Video) Woman - Michelle Rodriguez
OK so I thought I was done with my requests, but when I trolled through the sections for my offers, I discovered this DELIGHT of a music vid. I love the song, but somehow hadn't ever looked up the vid, which definitely was a mistake on my part.
While both of the ladies were a blast in this (and I'd definitely welcome a fic with both of them - femmeslash anyone??), Michelle Rodriguez is a long time action movie girl crush for me, and I definitely want to have a fic centered on her character in the vid. We know so little about her & most of what we know is more implied. I want her backstory especially. How did she end up with her bar code? How long had she been working for the bad guy? Where did she learn how to fight like such an utter badass?
Basically anything would make me happy with this request - I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
