You know, as someone who has a pretty much hate hate relationship with this day, I'm with you. *g*
Sometimes the only thing that makes it bearable - as odd as this will sound - is that one person EVERY year who will come in a a couple of days before Valentine's Day and gives us this gem:
"Oh, Valentine's Day is coming up. When is it?"
We're always thinking, we've had it set since the day after Christmas, but we answer (in this year's case) "It's Tuesday."
"No, what's the date it's on this year?"
"Um, Feb. 14th?" (Just like every other fucking year you MORON!)
And yeah, we do actually get someone saying this every year. It never fails.
