Still looking for plot/pairing help... I narrowed it down to a poll!

So yeah, I'm still thinking maybe some kind of AU but that could change depending on which pairing. Please help me out guys - I'm seriously struggling with a hyperactive muse that thinks EVERYTHING is shiny right now lol.

And again, if there's a pairing you want to see me write instead - feel free to toss it my way. Who knows - it might help me out!

Yeah I imagine you don't lol.

And I think I'm going with Bilba - it's the one I saw most often a while back, and it just seems stuck in my head. I honeslty can't see her named Bella when her mother's name was Belladonna - just too close lol.

Now if I can just figure out a plot beyond Thorin outrage/confused, Thorin figuring out 'hey instant alliance and someone else to talk to stuckup elves for him,' Thorin realizing terrible horrible truth that he's kinda wanted Bilba desperately since the whole troll and tubes incident, and Thorin trying to figure out how to court said hobbitess when they've barely been speaking for the past 5 years due to the whole hanging her off a wall and never really figuring out how to apologize incident. And some kind of happy ending.

And possibly bebe!Frodo because of reasons. Can't decide lol.

My brain has been bouncing and I actually think Bilba may be the one travelling back and forth after Balin's visit with various Took and Brandybucks to help with trade and post-desolation gardening (and let the younguns have "supervised and chaperoned adventures" per the Old Took). Maybe. Possibly? Brain is all over the place, and it may be semi-serious semi-not? I dunno yet maybe.

(And yaaaaaaaaaaaay! I was hoping you would be up for that kind of research. Cuz lord knows with a safe route and horses and carts and ELVEN FREAKING ESCORTS, it wouldn't take the hobbits near as long as the original journey)

Exactly! She'll be able to stay at Bag End in-between travels, but not actually own it, which I think works better.

And I may play with ages/figures depending on how long each journey ends up taking by your calculations. I don't know yet how I feel about that.

*flails* Gah I have avoided writing in this fandom because lord people can get viscious, but I'm really thinking I'm excited about this story!

Four months works - that would have them leaving at the end of winter and still getting back by the start of winter if they decided not to wait it out in Erebor. I'm not sure how long I want each party to hang around - they'd want to be there for either the start of the growing season or harvest each year, so alternating leaving Hobbitton in the spring and the returning the next spring could work. And then lather rinse repeat maybe. Possibly. Hmm... I hate it when my brain decides NOT to handwave the details lol
