hiddencaitHello my shipswap darling! I just wanted to thank you for being awesome and writing one of these fandoms and pairings of my heart. You rock; I love you; that is all.
Thanks said – on to the nitty gritty letter stuff!
First of all – DON’T PANIC! Seriously, I have no doubts that I will love whatever you write. Just the fact that you are writing for any of these pairings in the first place will make me ridiculously happy. Also, I just love gifts in general, so I’ll be chuffed to get a prize of any shape and size.
I know this letter will likely be ridiculously long and meta-y as again I love these fandoms, but don’t let that scare you off. If none of the prompts/like lists work for you, feel free to ignore them. The only thing I do ask is that my squick list be avoided. Other than that though, do whatever the muse tells you!
Anyway, on to the nitty gritty general likes/dislikes:
Things I like: post-apocalypse fic, slice of life/domestic fic (if you can manage both post-apocalyptic AND domestic I will bow to your greatness lol), teamfics, crossovers, AUs (particularly coffee shop, Black Jewels trilogy, daemons, steampunk/neo-Victorian, and Pacific Rim fusions), supernatural elements, badass chicks and men who respect/lust after them for it, fixit fics to bring back killed off characters.
Also I am TOTALLY OK with M rated fic if the smut muse visits you. Also, trio fics tend to make me happy, and I’ll try to remember trio options down in the fandom specific stuff in case that tickles your fancy.
Squicks/Dislikes: noncon, dubcon, character death, infidelity, RPF, bodily fluids, knife/blood play (as I have some triggers there – though only in a sexual context – cannon level battle violence is fine), mpreg, underage/pedophilia, explicit slash, genderswap, incest in any fandom other than the ones I’ve specifically requested (I’ve only have 2 incest ships ever).
Hopefully that gives you a rough idea of my preferred types of fics. On to the fandom specifics!
1. Crossover Ships – as I mentioned in my likes, I absolutely love crossovers, and lucky me – two of my faves ended up on the list this year!
Richard B. Riddick (Pitch Black)/River Tam (Firefly)
OK lets be honest here, Riddick is just sexy and sinister all at once, and apparently that’s a combination that works for me. Add his complete lethalness to his apparent inability to harm children and dogs, plus the stupid voice that Vin Diesal has, and well, I’m hooked. That said, I had a hard time shipping him with anyone in his cannon. Caroline Frye was competent and tough and there was a lot of onscreen chemistry, but most of that seemed to be Riddick screwing with her head as opposed to mutual attraction. Even if she’d survived, I don’t think that pairing would have lasted long assuming it got of the ground in the first place. Jack/Kyra is the other open pairing option, and again, it just doesn’t quite ring true for me. Jack was far too into the hero worship, and Kyra? Well, Kyra seemed too much to want to be Riddick as opposed to wanting to be with Riddick. If that makes sense at all.
So cue me turning to the crossover section of FFN to see if there was something that might appeal to me. I found one – River Tam ala Firefly. Bless her, she is not totally stable, and even at the end of Serenity it was pretty clear she never would be. But after the Big Damn Movie, she was definitely finding her footing between her reader gifts and the fact that she was a bitty killer woman.
Plus, as she once told Badger, “’Course I got a secret. More’n one.” And Riddick is always drawn to secrets.
As far as prompts/ideas, I’d love to maybe seen Serenity being the ship to find the shuttle at the end of Pitch Black. The interactions between each crew could be interesting as hell. Any other way you’d like to have Riddick joining up with our Big Damn Heroes could be fun too, whether he signs on as a passenger or is caught on the wrong side of a bounty hunter or even ends up enjoying the show as River dominates a bar fight. Grace and lethality are what I’m hoping for here!
Faith Lehane (Buffy/Angel)/Dean Winchester (Supernatural)
As soon as she showed up on screen, “Buffy” became the Faith-show for me. My first major girl crush, Faith has so many possibilities and a wonderful amount of vices and virtues. She just tried to hide those virtues as much as humanly possible. Once again, there weren’t many pairings I could see on the show, but she’s got such a sensual nature, that I’d love to see her enjoying herself (yes that means smut is OK here lol).
Enter Dean Winchester – has equally as many chips on his shoulder and demons on his back, but wants just as strongly to end up the good guy and protect the people he cares about. Plus he is such a raging hetero. I really think these two would tear up the sheets like crazy.
And hey, neither would have to lie about what they did for a living, though an intial bout of trying to hide it from each other could be hysterical. For these two if you want prompting, a mutual hunt would be fun or even someone sending the Winchester boys after some strange supernatural woman only to find out they’ve been helping a Slayer do her job. Domestic fic with pie and Bobby’s garage would make me happy, too. If ever there was a place Faith might be able to rest her itching feet, I could see Singer Salvage being it.
2. Andromeda – I have the whole series, and I loved it from start to finish. Season 5 in some ways was my fave, though it often felt like a completely different show. My very favorite characters ended up being played by the same actor. The idea of genetic re-incarnation totally made it easy for me to fangirl!
Telemachus Rhade/Genevieve Rhade (canon wife)
Considering we only saw her for a whopping 2 episodes at the very end of the series, I wouldn’t have expected Genevieve (I.E. Telemachus’s cannon wife) to intrigue me quite as much as she did. It might have been that she was played by Colby Smuthers (yes Maria Hill) who does a quiet competency better than a lot of people on screen right now. Part of it, I think is that Nietzchean women are so very much a powerful part of their culture. While yes the guys can have more that one wife (cue cannon trio opportunities!), it was made very clear that the women get to choose whether they’ll accept the courting Nietzchean male as their husband. And I have to imagine that they have a fair amount of say as to who will be accepted as a sister wife, too.
So I think I’d enjoy something like an AU where Louisa survived or Telemachus stumbled upon a Nietzchean lady in Seefra and brought her back, and now it’s up to his wife to decide if they’ll keep her. Or better yet, Genevieve picks out a wife for him and sets up to convince him that courting the mystery lady is all his idea. If that direction doesn’t work for you, then another idea might be what she does while he’s gone being all space soldiery – after all, in the very end of the series, he has flown himself back to Andromeda. The military wife angle could be really cool for these two.
Gaheris Rhade/Beka Valentine
The Unconquerable Man was one of my favorite episodes of the series – the cannon AU where Gaheris kills Dylan and takes his place in the rest of the series was a very interesting concept. That said – I’d really be interested to see what might happen if both Gaheris and Dylan manage to live through the battle and getting trapped on the edge of the even horizon. The new dynamic with the old guard and Beka and her crew could be really fun to play with. I definitely enjoyed the glimpse of the Beka/Gaheris pairing in the episode, too. Mostly I just want to see the pair being sexy and bad ass together. As pretty as Tyr might have been, Beka deserves a Nietzchean who isn’t bent on total tri-galaxy/Nietzchean dictatorship.
3. Doom – This was my single incest ship for a long time. Karl and Rosamund just had too much chemistry on screen for me to buy them not being together!
John Grimm/Samantha Grimm
The bond between these two as twins is pretty incredible – they both make really risky decisions over the course of the movie, all based on their trust of each other. I just love that bond, you know?
Prompt-wise, I would love to see these two surviving after Olduvai, especially with the angle that Sam has been infected as well. I’m also a definite fan of Reaper!Bones and Reaper!Vaako fics, and Sam!Chapel works for me too – so if you wanted to go the AU/crossover route, I’d been thrilled to see it!
4. Clash of the Titans – This was such an interesting film for me in that there were parts that just utterly annoyed me at times, but visually it was pretty seriously stunning. I was definitely more intrigued with some of the side characters than Perseus though. As much as I enjoy that actor, he just didn’t connect to me. Draco and Andromeda on the other hand? I totally wanted more screen time for them, Draco especially!
Draco/Andromeda
Mads Mikklesen has 2 roles that just utterly captivate me – Tristan in King Arthur, and Draco in Clash of the Titans. I just connect to both of those characters so easily, and honestly I’m not sure I can explain why.
As Draco, he has such a clear sense of loyalty and duty, even when both of those are directing him to follow his princess’s orders and go after the demi-god he already loathes on principle. I have a feeling that even if the king and queen had been the ones to order him, he might still have stayed behind in the city. It was only Andromeda and the threat to her safety that could make him agree to the quest. I also loved his body language in that very first court scene. His all dressed up in his finery, but still all but lunges to get between Andromeda and Hades. I just really want to see that loyalty and possible romantic connection explored, whether it’s in a fix it where Draco survives Medusa and returns to his newly crowned Queen, or where they are lovers before the movie while he’s captain of the guard. Also the 2nd movie made it clear that Andromeda had military training in both strategy/command and weaponry use, and my head canon definitely has Draco as the one to have taught her those skills.
5. Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters – I have always loved fairy tale re-tellings whether it’s a serious/dark version or one that doesn’t even remotely take itself seriously. This, this is definitely one of the latter in the very best of ways.

I hadn’t expected to every end up with a second incest OTP, but damned if I could resist it with these two. Just as with John/Sam, a huge part of it was the sheer physical chemistry and rampant eye-sexing that did me in, but the other part was the absolute patheticness that was Hansel even remotely trying to deal with another interested female. He really has no idea how hot he is, or how to handle it when someone else thinks he is. He just sticks close to Gretel most days, and hardly notices anyone else looking. And when they’re blatant like Mina? Well then, cue hopeless and adorable.
So yeah, in my head, he’s never had to court a woman, because he and Gretel have always been he-and-Gretel, and why argue with that kind of a perfect pairing? Plus they are both about as gorgeous as they can possibly be. And in leather. What can I say – I’m a little shallow sometimes.
I can’t even really come up with a prompt for these two – I just want them being sexy together and killing nasty things. I am a fan of Ben and Edward being added to the posse, though not into either being added to the pairing. I wouldn’t mind a trio with Mina though if you decided to go the fixit route!

Agents of SHIELD –I haven’t seen the recent eps that came out since January – so please avoid spoilers if at all possible! *Edit though it's entirely possible dear gifter that you have already read this, but I figured I'd throw it up anyway!* I am FINALLY caught up all the way through TRACKS and oh holy I would love anything dealing with Jemma's whole *blinkandyoumissit* jump on the grenade moment or her dealing with the blood on her hands, so to speak. Oh man my heart! *ahem* Anyway!
I really am loving this show – it’s so darling and quirky with action and superpowers thrown in. It’s just FUN and that’s what I’m looking forward to with this pairing.
Jemma Simmons/Grant Ward
This pairing snuck up on me, and it makes me sad that it has so few fics. Honestly, it wasn’t so much the parachute rescue that did it for me, but instead the moment with the tree that just utterly convinced me that these two could be darling together. Note: just because I like these two together does NOT mean that I want to see Melinda or Skye bashing. Respect all the awesome series ladies please – just let Jemma be the lady genius who gets her man!
As far as prompts, I’m not sure I’ve actually got anything. Mostly just Jemma being smart and having her shit together when it comes to her job, and Grant being a badass but actually having a personality under his guise of the Commando Ken doll.
