So, while trying to get myself to write my Aliens fic this past weekend, I decided to have a Michael Biehn marathon. One of my movies was Terminator. That was a mistake. I spent the rest of the weekend trying NOT to write Terminator fic instead of the Aliens fic I’d planned on.

To appease the muse, I let myself plot out this little 5 and 1. Because really, there were SO many ways we could have kept Kyle alive.

Basically: give me a pairing from a fandom I'm familiar with (Fake TV counts too lol), and then a 1 word prompt. I'll give you a 3 sentence ficlet. It's just that simple kids.

Now that we've got that settled, on with the snippet!

Hicks licked his lips again and then he painfully cracked open his right eye. It felt sticky, almost sealed shut, and he winced at the sheer effort it took to drag it all he way open. His vision swam for a moment, but then it cleared, revealing what must have been two of the most beautiful sights he’d seen in quite a while.

Curled up have on the bed next to him was a grubby little angel, all but lost in what was likely one of his shirts and one hand clutching his like a lifeline. Her eyes were huge and worried in that tiny face, and he tried to smile away a little of that worry. Newt, his mind whispered, memory flooding back through him at the sight of her face. She was alive. That fact brought a stronger smile to his face. It faded slightly as he remembered just why he was so relieved to see her alive. Last thing he remembered, she’d been taken. Taken to the nest to become another host for those disgusting things. There hadn’t been much hope of getting her back. Not much hope at all. That she was here at all meant…

His eye tracked right from the young girl to the woman beside her. His gaze drifted across pale skin and dark curls to a striking face and brown eyes staring down at him. Just a trace of a smile pulled at her lips, and once again Hicks felt an answering smile appear on his own face. Maybe a little bruised, maybe tired as hell. But she was still standing, and a lot more steady than he was right now. Yeah, he thought, she could definitely handle herself.

“Ripley. Ellen.”

Poor Hicks.. he's having a really shitty day ain't he? At least the scenery's nice!

*cough* Ahem... I'm OK I swear! Just having a minor flail moment at the freaking epic shipperness that is Aliens and Hicks/Ripley.

And yes.. I know I'm even FARTHER behind on the bandwagon with this one than I was with Mag7. What of it? lol

Anyway, hell fucking yes this movie makes me happy. Sadly that it's basically an massacre of quite a few awesome side characters, but really... how am I NOT supposed to enjoy a flick with this much in the way of smexy weaponry?

Plus: Michael Biehn as Corporal Dwayne Hicks? Ummmm yes please! Not only is he young and badass, with equal parts angsty and stoic leader type personality traits. He also SMILES!! Like a fool! For like... a good chunk of the first section of the movie. Which really, he hasn't done much in the other things I've swooned over him in. Which is just a damn shame frankly.

And again the shipper possibilities are freaking EPIC I TELL YOU! Ripley and Hicks are eyesexing all over the place, and fuck if he doesn't actually respect her too! I mean really, since when does that happen in most fandoms?

So yeahhhhh after searching for fic and being totally unhappily disappointed by the lack there of, I may have to switch my pairing for

het_bigbang to Ripley/Hicks. Just on principle.
