Dear MCU AU Writer!

I am so freaking thrilled you agreed to write for one of my pairings and AUs that I love. AUs are an addiction to me – I actually had to edit the heck out of my normal Dear Writer Letter as half of it referenced my love for AUs LOL.
In any case, I really am ridiculously excited to see what you write – this exchange may be the perfect one for me right about now! Really, I am going to love whatever I end up getting. No really. I mean it. I’m flailing like a lunatic and checking my watch to see if it’s time for reveals. I’m that excited – so don’t be scared!
OK so on to the nitty gritty. This letter’s going to be long, but that’s because I wanted to give you the list of likes/dislikes, my minor musings on the requested pairings, AND a couple quick notes on some of the AUs in case you wanted hints for that, too. I picked the same AUs for each of my pairings, btw. Hopefully that will make it less complicated.
Things I like: Slice of life/domestic fic, teamfics, crossovers, supernatural elements, badass chicks and men who respect/lust after them for it, fixit fics to bring back killed off characters.
Also I am TOTALLY OK with M rated fic if the smut muse visits you. Also, trio fics tend to make me happy, and I’ll try to remember trio options down in the fandom specific stuff in case that tickles your fancy.
Squicks/Dislikes: noncon, dubcon, character death, infidelity, RPF, bodily fluids, knife/blood play (as I have some triggers there – though only in a sexual context – cannon level battle violence is fine), mpreg, underage/pedophilia, genderswap, incest (I’ve only have 2 incest ships ever). Also, I’d really like to avoid Loki showing up except in the very vaguest references.
I am very picky about my slash btw as I’m mostly a hetter at heart, so while I totally enjoy seeing other characters pop up as side characters in my gift fics, I would prefer that there weren’t any slash pairings besides the ones I requested. Cannon het pairings always work if you really want to write background couples (Tony/Pepper, Thor/Jane, etc).
Hopefully that gives you a rough idea of my preferred types of fics. On to the fandom specifics!
Ships:
1. Clint Barton/Phil Coulson – One of the rare slash pairings where the fandom totally won me over, and now by God, I will go down with this ship. Hard. Plus Renner – I am totally behind the “just add moar Renner” phenomenon. Optional trio – Clint/Phil/Tasha is always lovely.
2. James “Bucky” Barnes/Steve Rogers – Oh man, if I hadn’t had leanings in this direction, the new movie would have pushed me over the edge. Oh these poor boys! Again, I’m not usually a slash fan, but MAN if this isn’t a gorgeous pairing. I like the overall dynamic of childhood friends to comrades to lovers, so if there’s a way to keep that in the AU I’d really appreciate it. Also, I prefer Bucky to be the hurt one if you go the H/C route – I hate to say it, but he’s just darned attractive all angsty and tortured.
3. Darcy Lewis/Steve Rogers – This is my go-to “I want to smile and have fun” pairing. Darcy is just darling, and Steve as a fan of her pin up body is just too right in my head. Oh btw, I do totally trio the hell out of Bucky/Steve/Darcy, optional details being optional, of course.
4. Bruce Banner/Natasha Romanov – Something about these two together just feels wonderful for me. Both of them would have to get past a lot of fear both of themselves and of each other, but it would totally worth it in the end.
5. Jane Foster & Jemma Simmons – Oh the Science!Chica options here are endless! Even outside of a science background, the way these two would connect could be a blast. Both of them are lovely, but so understated. I just want the two of these ladies in the same room having some kind of discussion or adventure. Optional – not really a trio, but a mass Team!Science fic with Tony, Bruce, Darcy, Jane, and FitzSimmons would be hysterical. There’s something refreshing about the occasional gen-focused fic.
6. Steve Rogers/Sif – These two just appeal to me. We already know Steve likes strong, confident women, and Sif deserves a man who can keep up with her. Plus I think his old fashioned manners would fit in well with Sif’s more formal upbringing.

AU - Fairy Tale Fusion - I love love love fairy tales, especially the darker original versions. Not that I don't enjoy Disney, but I like the balance between wishes and curses in the original tales. Some of my faves are Snow White and Rose Red, Beauty and the Beast, The Twelve Dancing Princesses, and East of the Sun, West of the Moon. I'd really be happy with any tale really though - there so much potential for all of these pairings I think!
AU – Fantasy World – Note: I especially like courtly love/knight errant type scenarios, but anything medieval magic-esque will thrill me.
AU – Harry Potter fusion
AU – Kushiel’s Legacy fusion – Note: I would love to see any of these characters born to the Night Court, especially. Any of them as Kushiel’s Chosen could be amazing, too.
AU – Matrix fusion
AU – Pirates
AU – Post-Apocalypse
AU – Romance Novel – Note: I’m such a sucker for Regency and Victorian era romances. If you could manage something in that style, I would love you forever! However, I would prefer a world where homosexuality isn’t taboo, if possible.
AU – Sentinel & Guides – Note: The sentinel and guide pairs don’t have to be romantic for this one, but I’m of course totally OK if they are LOL.
AU – Space – Note: Totally a fan of the space cowboy/space pirate trope ala Firefly, but space epics ala Star Wars and Star Trek are awesome too. Doesn’t have to be a specific fandom fusion – I just want pretty people on a ship LOL. Also, ensemble sci-fi casts make me happy, so extra characters are definitely welcome.
AU – Steampunk – Note: I love everything about this genre, and seriously anything you write will make me happy.
AU – Urban Fantasy – Note: I picked this instead of specifying werewolves, fae, or vampires, because frankly I enjoy all of these. Run amok!
AU – Western – Note: I grew up with John Wayne and the Magnificent Seven and Young Riders, and I’m honestly sad that there’s so little of it on TV now. I’ve noticed I’m a fan of ensemble casts for this genre, too, so feel free to bring extra characters in if you want to.
