Yuletide Letter!

hiddencait(So I figured I'd go ahead and post this even though the tagset isn't quite finalized yet. It doesn't look like any of my fandoms are in question, so I think I'm safe. BTW, my AO3 name is also Hiddencait if you are trolling through letters for treats! lol)

I just wanted to thank you for being awesome and writing one of these fandoms of my heart. You rock; I love you; that is all.

First of all – DON’T PANIC! Seriously, I have no doubts that I will love whatever you write. Just the fact that you are writing for any of these fandoms/characters in the first place will make me ridiculously happy. Also, I just love gifts in general, so I’ll be chuffed to get a prize of any shape and size.
I know this letter will likely be ridiculously long and meta-y as again I love these fandoms, but don’t let that scare you off. If none of the prompts/like lists work for you, feel free to ignore them. The only thing I do ask is that my no-thanks list be avoided if all at possible. Other than that though, do whatever the muse tells you!
Yes, please: Post-apocalypse fic, slice of life/domestic fic (if you can manage both post-apocalyptic AND domestic I will bow to your greatness lol), teamfics, found family, crossovers (particularly any of these requested fandoms together which could be AWESOME), AUs (particularly coffee shop, Black Jewels trilogy, daemons, steampunk/neo-Victorian, Sentinal/Guide, Old West, and Pacific Rim fusions), outsider POVs, supernatural elements, badass chicks and men who respect/lust after them for it, fixit fics to bring back killed off characters, fics where characters have kids and are adorable parents. Also, I am a total music junkie so anything incorporating that would be welcome! Some of my current loves are Florence and the Machine, Ellie Goulding, Imagine Dragons, Bastille, Bridget Mendler, and Sara Bareilles. I’m definitely OK with an M-rating, and for smutty fics, I particularly love dirty talk, a clear top ordering their bottom around, hair-pulling, restraints/ropes/shibari/handcuffs/holding partner down, wall sex, shower sex, cramped vehicular sex, biting/marking (without major blood being drawn), matebonds, “OMG we didn’t die” sex, and “sharing body heat” leading to sex (the sharing body heat trope never gets old lol).
If you go the holiday fic route, I'm a fan of family rituals as opposed to set religious rituals. My own spiritual beliefs are a little complicated, so I'd prefer not to recieve anything with indepth church services or alternately anything completelty anti-church/Christianity. Actually some of the holiday fics I've loved have been around some of the older pagan traditions like Yule where the whole family is part of bringing the holiday spirit into the home. If that makes sense at all? Hopefully? LOL.
No thanks, please: Slave worlds, demon-possession, noncon, dubcon, character death, infidelity, characters de-aged during the story (if you make one of the characters a child, make them “cannonly” children for that story if that makes sense), A/B/O, gangster/mob, noir settings, amnesia fics, loss of limb/amputations, mpreg, underage, genderswap, RPF. For M-rated fics, for triggering reasons I have to shy away from knife play/blood play/gun play (only in a sexual context – cannon level plot/action violence is fine), scat, watersports, rape-as-fantasy-scenes, anal, and any kind of direct blow in a sexual connotation even including spanking/flogging.
Also, btw, I’m fairly picky about my slash pairings and actually haven’t requested any of the fandoms I slash in this year, so if you aren’t feeling any of the het pairings I mentioned, please go the gen/friend route with the story!
Hopefully that gives you a rough idea of my preferred types of fics.
Oh BTW and semi-random, since I hadn't considered it, but someone mentioned it - for treats I am TOTALLY OK with art, mixes, vids, anything else you want to do if you choose to give me a treat! I love fic, but since I'm getting that in the main gift, visual pretties are always welcome for treating! *grin*

Editing to add since I saw the "Two for One" Crossover Challenge - Crossovers are ALWAYS a fave of mine, so I'm definitely willing to see any request of mine crossed over/fused if you know multiple fandoms here. For specific crossover prompts umm...
Maybe the ladies of Simone St. James books are investigating a haunting in Milton, and Margaret gets pulled in with them much to John's dismay? Or Betsy tries to speak out from beyond the dead?
Or Doyle from 28 Weeks Later is one of the soldiers who liberate the Gladers (keep in mind I have NOT read the 2nd or 3rd book, so you could totally go AU after the escape - maybe make the Flare an offshoot of the virus in 28 Weeks Later?)
Or Jason Walsh is sent on assignment and ends up encountering Orwell or The Cape. Or vice versus - our crimefighting duo ends up part of Dispatch's colorful crime reports?
Really any mix and match of these could be awesome if done well! But again - OPTIONAL! Don't stress if you're not a crossover fan yourself. :)
The Unusuals – Jason Walsh (10 episodes)
OK so I listed Walsh specifically, but you can consider this as Walsh with any other character or even Walsh on the periphery to other characters if that's where the muse takes you. I just want him to at least show up as admittedly Walsh is my favorite character, because Jeremy Renner is well, Jeremy Renner – what can ya do? But honestly, I really enjoyed all of these characters interacting all over the screen from the romance between Allison and Jason to the possible bromance/romance between Walsh and Schraeger, to the simply adorable partnership between Allison and Cole. If you can give me an ensemble fic, I would love you to death. Random comments from Dispatch would also be awesome! This one’s another great option for the Mrs. Challenge – Allison and Casey running Jason ragged could definitely be fun whether it was written as a romantic trio or just platonic!
North and South - Elizabeth Gaskell | UK TV – John Thornton and Margaret Hale (4 episode miniseries)
I specifically requested John and Margaret as their romance blew me away, but I would welcome interactions with any of the other characters too! Frankly everything about this show takes my breath away. The costumes and set design were stunning, and Richard Armitage had me sighing like a school girl for most of the mini-series, though especially during the train station scene! Honestly, I’d be thrilled with anything and everything for this series though I would love if John and Margaret were the focus. Though if you want to try for the Mrs. Challenge, any interactions with the various ladies would be great too!
The Maze Runner (2014) – Thomas (Single movie - feel free to ignore book cannon, but I've only read the first book anyway lol)
Really this request translates to “any character listed” as long as we have Thomas front and center. I have read the first book, but this is one of those very rare fandoms where I think I prefer the movie version to the book. The characters just seemed more dynamic in the film somehow. So please even if you’ve read the books, stick closer to the movie. Also no spoilers for the next two books, please! This movie was just so incredibly well done, and Dylan O’Brien did a fantastic job with the character of Thomas. I’d actually think I’d love some domestic/slice of life moments for this more than anything else, though navigating the maze or Thomas’s life as one of the WCKD scientists could be amazing, too. I didn’t really ship anyone in particular for this fandom, so probably gen-centric would work best for me with this one.
The Cape (2011) – Jamie Fleming (Orwell), Vince Faraday (10 episodes)
I full on flailed to see this series listed – loved the campy wonderfulness of this show, but it’s been hard sometimes to find fic for it. I definitely shipped Jamie (Orwell) and Vince, but I would prefer no bashing/fridging of the Mrs. Faraday! Just because I have a girl-crush on Summer Glau does not mean Dana wasn’t awesome. I guess this is one of the very few infidelity situations I’m OK with. Not sure why it works that way with this fandom – it just does possibly because Dana is having to get on with her life and truly believes Vince is dead. And Vince has to keep the fact that he’s alive secret no matter what which means it’s likely they would never be a couple again, and I can’t see either of them staying celibate for the rest of their lives.
That said, for this fic, I’d like anything with Jamie and Vince, though I’d prefer Jamie while she was still definitely sane. Give me happy instead of angst. Case fic could be lots of fun, too, and I kinda would love to see Jamie in a superhero persona in addition to Vince instead of just working the tech side of things. Also, I loved Max and the carnie crew, so feel free to toss our crime-fighting duo under the big top for any reason at all!
28 Weeks Later (2007) – Doyle (Single movie - no need to watch 28 Days Later as Doyle only appears in the second film)
Oh hey look Renner again. Who knew I was that predictable? Anyway, I loved this movie, and loved him in it. Fix-it fic to save his life and have him surviving after the next outbreak with Tammy and Andy, and even possibly Flynn would be awesome. Most I have a competency kink and sniper!Doyle totally hit my buttons. I also kinda sorta shipped him and Tammy a little – but please have her be at least 17 to help me with my underage issues!
An Inquiry into Love and Death – Simone St. James – any (Single book approximately 350 pages - just be warned that everyone I know who's read any of St. James' books immediately ended up reading the others too LOL)
I was recently dragged kicking and screaming (occasionally literally) into this author’s ghost story romances, but I have loved every one of them so far. For Drew and Jillian, I would love a glimpse into how their courtship goes after she returns to University. Epistolary stories would be especially fun here – and I wouldn’t mind seeing a few ghostly letters show up from her Father/Uncle as if he was able to follow her home and finally manage to almost be family from the other side as he never was capable of in life. If you’ve read the rest of the books and feel the urge, I also would definitely enjoy seeing some of the ladies from the other books show up and share in their lady-awesomeness. Definitely a great chance for the Mrs. Challenge. But regardless, Drew and Jillian are a delight on their own!
So yeah, that’s my list of wonderful fandoms for the Yuletide season – I hope this letter gave you some inspiration!
