Het BigBang Monday Update!

So my grand total as of last night was 13, 622 on "From the Last to the First" so considering my word cound when I sent out the call for inspriation was 10, 888 I made considerably progress. Not as much as I might have liked to but still that's 2735 words over the course of the weekend.

So, my plan is to have the first draft finished by the end of August so that I can get it to my beta and have plenty of time for any re-writes and polishing.

I did the math, and I can complete 25k by then if I pull off 495 words per day. I can do this. I KNOW I can do this.

Hey if you do the math, that's actually LESS than I have to do. You're beating me, so you can make it by the end of August on less than 500 words a day. You can so totally do it. Cuz I said so lol.

*does dance* I'm way pleased with myself frankly, especially considering the anti-writing mood I started off Friday with. And I've already done my 500 for today so I'm on track there too!

(...I'm trying desperately not to go the bang route.. I have a Doommovie/Sanctuary cross that's been just a bunny nibble way on the back burner that would work for the angst bang.. but that just sounds like a bad idea.. but I would get to play with Karl again! but it's a bad idea... *whimpers*)

Yeah, I'm probably talkin gmyself into the angstbang.. I'm going to wait just a bit though and see how far I make it on this bang first in order to see if I've got a fic done prior to September.

And hmmm probably Friday or Saturday? I've managed to hit my 500 word daily goal so far. If I can keep it up then I should have at least 16k by Friday, though I really want to push past that, I think. Finishing BEFORE the end of August would be even better lol.

I'll make you up icons for whatever you want. So unless you're really a hardcore fan or jonesing because you can't find good aliens icons, I can make you some for aliens and others for whatever else.
And yeah, 5 is fine. I just tossed off three for Morrigans_eve just because she needed encouragment. And I've been tossing off batches of 5 regularly all weekend while putting together the OC icons.

BTW, check my userpics. One of the icons I have is an angry future predator/alien. Looks like could easily be either. You might want to snatch a copy....

OK, so I know at least one for sure, I want one of the scenes were all three: Hicks, Ripley, and Newt are curled up after one life or death moment. Pretty much just a "snuggles" moment lol

And then as for the others, I would love one each for my 2 primeval OC ladies, Cat Cheshire for the Alicex and Alison (no last name cuz I can't remember if Stephen told us what it was.. hmm) for The Surviving. I'm waffling between Shannyn Sossamon and Laura Fraser for Alison (amusingly both were in A Knight's Tale lol), and I have NO idea for Cat.. hmm

I actually haven't read any of these pieces of yours yet and definitely will need to do so now that I know they're there! Sadly, I've got two other things I'm betaing right now and a stack of graphics due. Can you tell me a bit about each of the women, both their mannerisms and their physical appearance? Sounds like you've got people picked for the Alicex and Allison. But what about Cat? If you tell me more about her, I can go hunting and offer up suggestions.

Yeah I need to just get around to crossposting them but frankly I'm lazy lol. They are on my ffn too though if you aren't in the mood to deal with LJ comms.

Cat Cheshire of my Primeval/Alice crossover: Cat is.. well.. delightfully batshit. All the Cheshires are dreamseers and they tend to operate on more senses than just 5 which makes them pretty out there. She's about the age of Duchess in the Alice movie, and is a tiny little thing with a mop of redbrown curls and big bright green eyes. Definitely manic with not so hidden damage that the Queen of Hearts inflicted before the Casino fell.

Alison is the girlfriend Stephen mentioned in Season 1, only she's the Alison from another timeline (operating on the multiverse theory for this one.. I think?) where she and Helen(who never cheated on her husband) are the only 2 members of Cutter's team that have survived the world pretty much ending as the time-migrating creatures have multiplied and just about taken over. She and Helen abandoned what was left and heading out into the anomalies, eventually found alternate timelines and versions of their loved ones and have been on a mission to save as many timelines as they can. So, lots of grief and more than a little co-dependent with Helen, also massive drive to protect any version of her lost family. She actually used to be dress pretty "posh" as she came from money and then ran away to college lol. But now looks like a survivor much like Helen. She's got short dark hair she hacked off with a knife when they went through the anomaly. That's why I'm waffling with those 2 models for her: can't decide how tough or former fashion model I want her to look ya know?

... I also contemplated Keira Knightly for Alison.. just can't decide.

P100 is done and posted. Started out at 174 and I whittled it down to a austere 102. Can't seem to get lower than that so far and this is my third week doing it.

Yeah, 100 word drabbles are HARD! I did an entire series in 100 or 200 drabbles back in the Doom fandom and I loved them, but hated them a bit too lol.
