Dear Yuletide Letter

Dear Yulegoat,

You are amazing. I want to tell you that up front, because you are.

Please don’t stress about this assignment. Just the fact that you are writing for any of these fandoms in the first place makes me ridiculously happy. Also, I just love gifts in general, so I’ll be chuffed to get a prize of any shape and size. I know this letter is ridiculously long as I love these fandoms, but don’t let that scare you off.

BTW, I know that some fandoms have more option details (mostly bc my brain just had more ideas on some than others – but the Yes Please list can always be considered “prompts” for any of them – especially those w/o as much detail), but I promise I’m TOTALLY thrilled about all of them so don’t worry about getting matched on a “non-fave” – I legit do not have any of those this time. I have six here because I couldn’t stand to remove any of them and all of them were as important as the others!

If none of the prompts/like list work for you, feel free to ignore them. The only thing I do ask is that my No-Thanks list be avoided.

No thanks: Slave worlds, demon-possession, mind control, prostitution, noncon/dubcon, character death, infidelity, love triangles/jealousy focus (I am far more fond of OT3ing it up), characters de-aged/aged back up during the story (if you make one of the characters a child, make them “canon” children for that story if that makes sense), A/B/O, gangster/mob, noir settings, amnesia fics, loss of limb/amputations, mpreg, underage, gender swap, teacher/student stories, focus on drug abuse/alcoholism, beastiality, or incest. Please no 2nd person or 1st person POVs (Unless the source material for the fandom aka Innkeepers is in 1st person – then go for it!).

For M-rated fics, for triggering reasons I have to shy away from knife play/blood play/gun play (only in a sexual context – canon level plot/action violence is fine), scat, watersports, rape-as-fantasy-scenes, anal for M/F pairings, and any kind of direct blow in a sexual connotation, including spanking/flogging.

Yes Please: Post-apocalypse, slice of life/domestic/curtainfic, epistolary stories, found family, crossovers between requested fandoms, AUs (particularly Black Jewels trilogy, daemons, steampunk/neo-Victorian, Sentinel/Guide, Old West, Hogwarts Professors, and Pacific Rim fusions), outsider POVs, supernatural elements, badass chicks and men who respect/lust after them for it, fixit fics to bring back killed off characters, fics where characters have kids and are adorable parents, 5 and 1 style fics.

I’m definitely OK with an M-rating, and for smutty fics, I particularly love dirty talk, a top ordering their bottom around w/o humiliation/humiliating language, hair-pulling, restraint i.e.: ropes/shibari/handcuffs/holding partner down, wall sex, shower sex, cramped vehicular sex, biting/marking (without major blood being drawn), mate bonds, “OMG we didn’t die” sex, and “sharing body heat” leading to sex.

NOTE: I am VERY picky about my slash pairings and usually prefer het or femmeslash with a few exceptions (which aren’t included in this year’s request). If you are a slasher and not a fan of the het pairings suggested, please go the gen route. I know my requests are pretty shippy (most of them are canon pairings anyway), but I am ALWAYS good with friend/found family fics.

Optional Re Crossovers: I also wanted to mention that crossovers between any of my requested fandoms would be awesome if that’s your thing, especially with other fandom characters somehow showing up at the Gertrude Hunt from the Innkeeper Chronicles!

The Innkeeper Chronicles – Ilona Andrews Any
Yes I got an awesome fic for this fandom year, but let’s be real: Ilona Andrews basically owns my readerly soul LOL. The Innkeeper Chronicles series is definitely my fave, and there will NEVER be enough fics for it in my opinion. Really what’s not to love about an intergalactic Bed and Breakfast? I honestly really love all of the characters in this story, especially the inn itself, Gertrude Hunt, which DEFINITELY feels like a character all on its own and for whom I would love an Inn POV fic if that’s your fancy! But yeah the 4 I nominated (and am requesting “any” for) really are my absolute faves, though I’m definitely game for fics including any of the other side characters honestly – I just want Dina/Sean and/or Gertrude Hunt and/or Orro as centric.  So, prompt/concepts I’m excited about: for this fandom specifically, I’d love to have a 1st POV fic ala the books (though from any character you like – Dina, of course, is always a win as the book’s POV character, but I’m game for a look into anyone’s head, especially outsider POV on Dina/Sean), & I’d like it mostly set in and around Gertrude Hunt since the inn is a delight. Domestic fic in particular would make me super happy here. We always see Dina in a stressful situation, but rarely get those calm moments of life running like normal or even with a guest that ISN’T close to causing an intergalactic incident. Are Arland, Maude, and Helen visiting for a holiday? Have Dina & Sean finally made it official & started bonding Sean to the inn? Is Orro in a tizzy? Does Caldenia have a visitor who ISN’T trying to claim a bounty for once? Of course, if you do want to write an actiony fic I’d be happy to read that as well. Seriously run wild – this series just makes me happy in general. Though, my one caveat is I do want Sean/Dina if you go shippy – I am not into either of these two in other pairings which is odd for my multishipper self LOL

Oh! BTW, in addition to crossovers with my other requested fandoms taking place in Gertrude Hunt, I would definitely be thrilled to have a crossover with any of the other Ilona Andrews series as long as once again, it’s taking place in the Innkeeper universe. I mean, it’s already canon that Edge verse characters have made it there, but what about a visit from Julie/Derek ala the Kate Daniels books? Does Dina consult with Elara from Iron and Magic on magical conundrums? Or does she end up sheltering one of Nevada’s sisters & cousins from the Hidden Legacy books? I think that would be a TON of fun for sure. This fandom just totally works for crossover fics in general I think!

Northmen: A Viking Saga Asbjorn, Inghean

Tom Hopper pulled me into this teeny tiny fandom after Black Sails moved him to the top of my fandom boyfriend list. I gotta admit, it’s such a terrible movie objectively, but it totally appeals to my love of questionable action movies. We get all the Tom Hopper biceps you might hope for in his character (and the lead) Asbjorn, though sadly he never takes the shirt completely off. As the leader of the exiled and shipwrecked Vikings, he’s awesomely competent and has mad chemistry with the female lead (the only one in the entire film sadly), Inghean. She is a Scottish princess the Vikings kidnap in hopes of ransom only to discover her father prefers to see her dead than pay for her safe return. She also is the source of the one fantasy element in the film: an earth sense that warns her when the group is in danger. All in all, I just desperately want a post-movie fic with these two. The movie ended so very abruptly, and there was so much more of the story hanging. How do they all survive the long boat? Do they ever find safety? Is it at the Viking encampment they hoped to find? Does Inghean’s earth sense end up more under control or cause people to see her as a witch? Will Inghean and Asbjorn EVER do more than stare at each other longingly? 

John Wick (Movies) Charon, John Wick’s Unnamed Dog

Y’all, this was the adorable buddy cop-ish assassin movie I really wanted. Charon and the pittie pupper just seemed like friends, and I want to see the pair of them having some kind of a good day together whether it’s just hanging around the Continental or out on some kind of a mission (since we got to see firsthand how much of a badass Charon was in the third movie) or even just the pupper getting properly pampered. This is possibly the most self-indulgent request I’ve ever asked for, but I just. Don’t. Care. LOL While I did note that I’ve seen the third movie, you definitely don’t have to take all of that into consideration, especially considering where Charon’s loyalties were at the end – a canon AU or completely vague handwaving of those issues is just fine for me. Also, this is one of the fandoms that would slot into a crossover with Innkeeper Chronicles pretty darned well. I mean how else would someone who works at the Continental get a vacation that doesn’t seem terribly dull? Or has Charon worked at a true Inn before his previous employment? Hell is he an Innkeeper? Does our pittie friend have Beast-like powers or is he really just the adorable couch pupper he appeared to be? Just give me all the fluffy adorableness which yes I know is an odd request for this kind of fandom considering the death toll usually but I care not LOL

Kong: Skull Island James Conrad, Mason Weaver 

Oh yeah, I shipped it. I shipped it HARD. Honestly, I’ve never quite gotten the appeal of Tom Hiddleston as Loki, but oh holy hells this movie convinced me on him as an actor. Conrad and Weaver’s chemistry was fantastic, and I loved how well they worked together. My competency kink was definitely tingling every single scene they had together. I think what I really want is post-movie fic for this one. Do they drift apart and find their way back to each other during another strange creature related incident? Do they join Monarch & get read into the Godzilla insanity? Just give me these two confident badasses together facing the world after learning that it was so much bigger in some places than they ever knew. I was definitely bummed when it was finally clear that we wouldn’t have a Kong sequel with the same characters/timeline so I’m turning to fic to come through for me!

Sense and Sensibility – Jane Austin Colonel Brandon, Eleanor Dashwood

This pairing is one that fandom totally sold me on before I knew I really wanted it. I definitely do want shippyness for this one though it definitely can be pre-ship. I would prefer if you didn’t kill off or thoroughly "ruin" Marianne to make it happen, but I do want these two to end up together and happily in love instead of the attitude that they are just “settling” for each other. This is another that I’d be game for crossovers for, especially other Austin stories (though I haven’t read/seen Sanditon so avoid them please), or the other fandoms requested here.

Barbarians Rising (TV) Thusnelda, Arminius

Why yes, yes it is another Tom Hopper fandom, and no I don’t care LOL. This docudrama was one of my faves recently, and while Tom obviously was part of that, I did enjoy all of it over all. Thusnelda in particular intrigued the hell out of me, though she didn’t get a single spoken line in any of the show. There is just so much to unpack there, especially with the history you can draw on. I would prefer NOT to have Thusnelda as a slave after she’s taken from Arminius – an AU where either he is able to rescue her or not have her kidnapped at all and them getting to be a happy family would be much MUCH preferred in my opinon!

I’m impressed if you managed to read through all of this ridiculously long letter, but I appreciate it if you did and I’m so so excited to see what you come up with!
