Title: Shadow
Fandom: Bourne/Push
Words: 536
Characters: Kirill, Cassie/Nick
Summary: They've come looking for him.
Author's Note: Prompt from [livejournal.com profile] urbancate for "The one where Kirill helped someone instead of killing them."  This merged with the crossover fandom request she gave me for Kirill/Push.
Rating: T

The first thing Kirill thinks when the pair walks into the club is that the girl, the young woman really, is almost to young to enter into a place like this. He gets a glimpse of her too-old eyes and guesses those are the only reason the doorman has even allowed her inside.

It is easy to tell the pair are on the run. Every mood proclaims it to the world, at least to Kirill.  He might be on suspension but he is not blind. He has not forgone his gifts while his government investigates the Bourne fiasco – while they investigate his loyalties now that Gretkov is in custody. It is easy to tell them he is Secret Service and only follows orders; it is harder to make them believe him.

Still it is not the Secret Service who would be looking for these two, he thinks. No, it is another government agency, one he served for a time when he was much younger, that hunts these two. Разделение. Division.

The man holds out a chair for the girl, and that is what betrays him. He has not completely touched the chair, though his fingers were close enough that few would notice. Kirill has noticed. A telekinetic. Interesting. And the girl, Kirill wonders. What type of psychic is she?

And why are they here? A shake of his head and a shot of vodka follow the thought. They are here for him. Can only be here for him.

Kirill is known for his aim, for his ruthlessness, and his ability to track his assigned prey to any place no matter how far across the globe. He is infamous for those traits, and he prefers that to be so. There are not many who remember Kirill’s other gift.

Low level psychic, the scientists called him, barely enough to registered during testing. They were foolish not to test him more thoroughly.  Not to wonder if a Shadow might be strong enough even to hide from Division machines.

Who has told them about him, Kirill wonders. Who of those few he trusted has sold out that secret?

Then, in a moment, the woman gives herself away, though this Kirill guesses is not deliberate. She suddenly presses her fingers to her forehead, eyes closed and swaying back and forth in pain. It is a motion he once saw often, but has not seen in far too long.

Watcher. She can only be a Watcher. One come looking for protection and a shield, he guesses.

The girl has recovered now and is murmuring her vision to her partner who is muttering back. He seems less than pleased with what she is telling him, and Kirill catches one brief venomous glance in his own direction. The young woman still is not looking towards him, but he realizes she is not looking far too deliberately.

She will give them all away if she is not careful. And they cannot remain here much longer and go unnoticed.

Kirill sighs and downs the rest of his vodka. Then he stands and makes his way to the table to find the girl looking smug and the man looking wary.

“I am Kirill. Come with me.”

Title: Never Have I Ever
Fandom: Firefly
Words: 406
Characters: Whole crew minus Kaylee and Simon who are busy with a wedding night
Summary: Drinkin' games for all!
Author's Note: Prompt from [livejournal.com profile] woodstock12 for "The one where the crew of Serenity get drunk then play a game of truth or dare."  It went a little off the prompt. Oops?
Rating: Tish?

“Alright, as Cap’n I think I should start…” Mal tried to keep his face straight, but given the copious amounts of engine brew already consumed thus far in celebration of Kaylee and Simon’s long awaited nuptials, he dissolved into laughter with the rest of his crew after only the moment. “Oh this’ll be quite the show. Right! Never have I ev-”

“That’s the wrong game!” River cut in, shaking her head firmly. “Truth or Dare isn’t the same at all!”

“But… I weren’t thinkin’ there were more than one drinkin’ game, Lil Albatross, and that’s this.” He shrugged, certain of his point, but the women around the table just shook their heads.

“Truth or Dare weren’t originally a drinkin’ game, Sir.” Zoe said, taking another drink and passing her cup to her husband. He only took a little sip, more in the spirit of the game than anything else. He was still working a goodly number of pain meds in his body; the Alliance docs had patched himself up pretty good, but the scar was likely always gonna hurt. And that meant less of the alcohol if he wanted to fly at all.

“I always thought it was some sort of girly ritual, like pillow fights in your underwear,” Wash said, trying to look as serious as Mal hadn’t.

“That really happens? I thought that was a myth.” Jayne looked far too intrigued by the thought, so Inara suggested they continue the game. Well one of the games.  Mal agreed, and after a wicked look around the room and pausing on the former Companion, continued with his original statement.

“Never have I ever kissed a member of the same sex!”  Book looked impressed Mal had managed to say all that considering his level of intoxication, though he did seem less than impressed by the topic of conversation.

He was even less impressed when both Inara and Zoe each took a long gulp of Kaylee’s latest engine brew. Mal and Wash however gasped and stared like little boys at Christmas. In the midst of the expected lewd cracks from the pair of husbands, Jayne was the one to stop the conversation and revelry cold.

“You’d best drink up Crazy Girl lessen’ I call you a liar.” The table went silent, and as one the rest of the group turned and stared at River. Who lunged for Jayne.

“The ape man promised not to tell!”

OMG. I now want to make Kirill my fandom pony. Is that bad? He's just so bad-ass and messed up and could have all kinds of fun in other franchises. This was awesome. Thank you! ♥
