Aliens Squee HetBigBang Hicks Flail OMG!

*cough* Ahem... I'm OK I swear! Just having a minor flail moment at the freaking epic shipperness that is Aliens and Hicks/Ripley.

And yes.. I know I'm even FARTHER behind on the bandwagon with this one than I was with Mag7. What of it? lol 

Anyway, hell fucking yes this movie makes me happy. Sadly that it's basically an massacre of quite a few awesome side characters, but really... how am I NOT supposed to enjoy a flick with this much in the way of smexy weaponry?

Plus: Michael Biehn as Corporal Dwayne Hicks? Ummmm yes please! Not only is he young and badass, with equal parts angsty and stoic leader type personality traits. He also SMILES!! Like a fool! For like... a good chunk of the first section of the movie. Which really, he hasn't done much in the other things I've swooned over him in. Which is just a damn shame frankly.

And again the shipper possibilities are freaking EPIC I TELL YOU! Ripley and Hicks are eyesexing all over the place, and fuck if he doesn't actually respect her too! I mean really, since when does that happen in most fandoms?

Plus, he gives her jewelry (though it doesn't mean they're engaged or anything lol) anddddddddddddd he introduces her to his favorite weaponry:


If that's not a sign of awesome chemistry I don't know what is. 

So yeahhhhh after searching for fic and being totally unhappily disappointed by the lack there of, I may have to switch my pairing for het_bigbang to Ripley/Hicks. Just on principle. 

Thoughts, questions, comments? Help for the fact that I don't have a fucking CLUE what plot would be? You know, besides my complete denial of the 3rd movie in general. So there.

OH MY GOD, I SHIPPED THESE TWO BEFORE I KNEW WHAT SHIPPING WAS. You know, when I saw this movie when I was, oh god, 11? I didn't see it when it came out, it was a few years later. On HBO. :D

Hicks is amazing. SOOO much chemistry and great lines and wow. I really, really, REALLY loved these two. I loved how he knew she was a badass and he ENCOURAGED IT.

Could you do some kind of AU? Maybe have the story set in modern-day South America? She was part of some kind of expedition and is the sole survivor of something? He goes in with his team?

Eeee! *bounces* I love this ship!

(This is not to say that I'm not still psyched about your Chronicles of Riddick story. You're spoiling me for choice, dang it!)

Yeah I'm totally not sure how I missed this and the original Terminator for so long. It's kinda strange frankly considering my tendency towards scifi and action flicks. Especially either of the above with badass female main characters.

And yeah, I'm discovering I have a major major crush on Michael Biehn... I just have to conveniently forget that he's in his 50s now. If I can just exist in a world where he never gets older than he was in Mag 7, I should be fine lol.

But yeah, so far I think Hicks is my fave of his characters. He manages to balance the strength and vulnerabilty perfectly. Plus, he as near Dad!Hicks with his few interactions with Newt actually had me "awww-ing" almost more than I did with Ripley and Newt lol.

I'm actually thinking I may attempt an AU third movie with just what I'd expect to have happened next. I've discovered I have a hard time writing anything current day for some reason unless it's sci-fi/AU beyond all belief lol. I think my direction for it will be something along the lines of, we know the current nest was destroyed at the end of Aliens, but wasn't there STILL as ship somewhere out in the boonies of the planet? Did the writers just conveniently forget that or did they just decide the fall out would kill everything on board? *shrugs* Anyway, I think that'll be the rough idea for badness thrown in with the four of them (if I can figure out how to fix Bishop cuz he rocks) manage to pull together a family in the wake of all that grief.

I'm so freaking loving it too!!!

(and it will DEFINITELY be written eventually.. it's been on the backburner for a while lol. I may just try to write both. I mean hell; I actually won Nano last year which is 50k in just one month.. I can probably manage it by September lol)

First off, let me just tell you that I love you if only for the fact that you recognize the sheer hotness that is Hicks and are attempting to add to the paltry collection of fic out there celebrating the amazing ship that is Ripley/Hicks. They are AWESOME. I have been been in love with Aliens from the tender age of 10 (Michael Biehn has ruined me for any other man...other than hubby, of course).

Please, please, please write your fic. The lack of good Ripley/Hicks is starting to really piss me off!

Whoo hoo! Gotta enjoy mutual fandom love! I'm quite stunned at myself that I've missed that hotness up until now, but I'm definitely all in lol.

And yes I am writing it as we speak! It's for het_bigbang so I can't post all of it anywhere until September, but I do have a little snippet up in my most recent LJ entry!
