Het_BigBang Updateness: Yay plot! + Oh crap. Plot.

So I have rather awesome news for my Het_BigBang. I managed to hit 11.5k the other night, so word count has been awesome recently!

Unfortunately, that 11k was still relatively plotless until oh...about an hour ago when I had a total brain bunny kick in which hopefully could be AWESOME!!

Think interrogations, and Hicks's old NCO and another squad of Marines and company coverups and escaps and and and... seriously, not sure how I'm ending this one either, but I think it could be awesome. (And yes seren_ccd , part of this is thanks to you and one single line on the meme you just did.. so thank you and DAMN YOU!!!!)

Cuz yeah, here's the bad news. Of the 11k I currently have finished, it's probable that only the first 7 or so will be useable for the new plot.

*headdesk*

I may be able to recycle more of it later on in the story, but that's not a sure thing right now. So while I was feeling awesomely capable of knocking the rest of the story out in plenty of time, I'm now going to be on a bit of a crunch to get this out properly by Sept. 1st.

I do know I can do it though, and probably long before that so askita has time to beta everything. Luckily she's finally got a copy of the movie and should be able to sit down and enjoy relatively soon. After that I can probably send a chapter at a time as I finish it, so I won't have to worry QUITE as much about finishing very early in August.

Still though. Not totally happy with my brain taking this long to kick into gear. Oh well, at least I really enjoy the parts that ARE usable, so I can be proud of those I think. 

Now to try desperately to make up some ground. Though really, I'd hoped to have at least 13k by Sunday night, and I highly doubt that's going to happen, but who knows... I have managed crazy word counts before. When the muse behaves. *shrug*

Gotta say, it's probably a good thing I have no plans this weekend.

I can, I know I can, and hell I've managed to hit 8k already this afternoon which makes me feel a bit better.

It's just frustrating and a little disheartening to kiss all that wordcount goodbye lol.

So how's your's going?

I've got 10,300 typed up and about another 1k handwritten, I think.

Actually, I have just typed up what I had handwritten, and apparently I had 2,000 words ::g::

I'm now sitting at 12,300, but I still haven't finished the first scene, damn it!

Whoot! Gotta love those kinds of miscalculations!

And that's probably another reason I can't handwrite anything I have to keep track of. I would have no earthly idea how to guage word count that way.

I'm less concerned about the word count than finishing it ::g:: So it really doesn't matter to me now how long what I have handwritten is compared to how long the story needs to be, just how far through the scene I am ::g::

And yeah, I hear ya. I'm just one of those people that having the numbers in front of me helps remind me that I AM making progress ya know?
