So this is me being brave and attempting my first fanmix and cover. Was originally for a challenge, but I'm now considering it more just for me.

Edit: While the comment wasn't posted here, I feel I should give a little warning. Let me just say this: if the only comment you will make is on the formatting and/or fucking size of the cover that I fought with for HOURS... just don't comment.  Really, talk about a way to totally kill my enthusiasm.

I thought it was great! I never really understood that particular Ixie Chicks song, but I liked it nonetheless. ( I love that word.) GIMP does get easier to use, and if you ever want to call and ask me some questions about the way something works, I can see if I know. *Hugs*

Thanks my dear! And yeah, I freaking LOVE that Dixie Chicks song.. totally fits me on occasion lol. Strange that it does that for me but not you aye?

And yeah, I imagine it will. It was just fighting with the re-sizing just flat not happening on one of the pics and it was switching from layers without me telling it too and just blah upon it.

I think this is awesome! Already loving the songs without even having listened to them, so you've actually picked a great mix! It's downloading now and I'll be back when I'm finished listening but I know I'm just gonna love it more :P So... when's the next one? :D

Wheeeeeeeeee glad you think so! I was raised on country music so once it randomly started turning into a shipper mix in my head, I knew exactly which songs I wanted to play with. Then it was just getting them in order and fighting with gimp for a cover.

And youuuuuuuuuuu ... that's just.. evvvvvvvill says me!

Though, now that you mention it. I am not up for writing any bigbangs (as I have GOT to finish one of my original novels by the year end or I am going to go freaking insane), but I decided to try the artist side since there never seem to be as many artists as writers. And I was DEFINITELY thinking I'd play with fanmixes for those. Cuz I tend to have my own mental soundtrack running almost 24/7 anyway so might as well take advantage of it *beams*

I think you are pretty brave for using GIMP. I have it but I haven't really tried to use it - it just doesn't seem to like me whenever I try :/ Although, maybe try resizing the .jpg - it's what I do and I dare anyone to tell me I'm cheating! :P

DEFINITELY do more mixes! I think they're so underrated and I love having a look at what people come up with for them; they're certainly an art form of their own!
Also, bring on the country music! I try to vary my mixes as much as possible but I have to admit that I never add enough country music.

Yeah, I'd only ever used Adobe which is on my old dino of a desktop. Like seriously dino - like from my senior year of high school dino lol. So I tried Gimp and it's not too fond of me.

...resizing was the hell of hells. Seriously one of the images just flat would not resize no matter what I did.. blarg upon it lol

And I totally enjoyed this one and the one I'm working on for my original, so I definitely will be doing so.

Yeah, the country will likely make a reappearance. I like a wide variety of music so I try lots of different ones. I just figured country was appropriate for a western themed mix lol.

BTW, I just friended you. I could have sworn I'd already done so, but LJ confuses me from time to time so no clues lol.
