WTF Fandom... and ZOMG Fandom!!!

So yesterday was a rollercoaster fandom wise for me. Like ridiculously so, frankly.

So I babbled about The Cape the other day right? You know the one with the Aussie who ends up shirtless every other ep? Yeah him. Anyway, so I did was I always do after getting mini-obsessed with a show - I went looking for fanfiction. As I was afraid of, there's not much over at FFN, and I couldn't find ANY here on LJ thus far. Twas sad, and of the amount at ffn, most of it was only eh in quality. Then I found an author with a couple decently written fics, and they responded to my reviews and I was thinking cool - here's someone to talk up the show with.

And we did for a few PMs, until I shit you not - they started telling me how I should write reviews and then told me I should write for the fandom as long as I DIDN'T WRITE SMUT IN HER FANDOM. W...T...F. I responded and managed to politely tell her to that I would do whatever the hell I wanted in my fic, and she backtracked saying she'd try "anything except for say.. Drarry or Draco/Hermione cuz *shudder.*" 

...have I mentioned I'd written Draco/Hermione as well? *growls* So I tell her, and I'm super short and I figured that would just end the fucking coversation, but NO! She messaged me again this morning, and it's even longer then the last few... and once again she was telling me I was "wrong" about my opinon regarding reviews.

I'm not responding to this one. I'm just not. She'll continue to piss me the fuck off, and I don't need that kind of fandom drama. It just sucks, cuz it's already telling me I'm not going to enjoy the community in The Cape fandom, and that's just sad.

*shakes it off*

ANYWAY! On to the freaking awesome and made me squee like a lunatic news!  irony_rocks recced "From the Last to the First" over at het_reccers!  Dude I have NEVER had a story recced before. Never ever, and it makes me freaking happy. Just bouncing off the walls over here!!!

*huggles* Yeah, I just.. I will NEVER understand that perspective. I want more writers in my fandoms. I want LOTS more writers in my fandoms. Cuz while there will be crapfic, there is also the chance for awesome fic.

And this is me being way egotistical, but I think I can safely say I would raise the quality level for that fandom. So there. I'll write my smut and she'll like it and I'll laugh. *nods*

No, not again. That's the sort of lesson it usually only takes me once to learn. I've pulled everything I wrote off that comm and removed myself from the membership. I want NOTHING to do with she and hers. No thanks. Guess it still smarts a bit though.

And we're in agreement about wanting MORE people writing in our fandoms, rather than being elitist and exclusionary. Its possible that I was one of the earliest decent writers to treat Jess/Becker seriously. And I'd be thrilled if I found out that got other people into writing that pairing. So yeah, whomever this is can just go bite. Zhe doesn't own the fandom and will have to put up with other people's views just like you have to put up with her crappy prejudices!

Ah, gotcha. *hugs* Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm still pretty bummed about the Mag7 mod that totally ruined my enjoyment of one of the comms. Though in the long run, I was stretching myself too thin trying to keep up with that one anyway.

Indeed! I mean, I write what I want to read, but I can't write everything. And that doesn't allow for the wonderful surprises of "I would have NEVER thought of that" fics that make me squee.

And yeah, she'll have to deal. I haz no fear. *looks feirce*
