So after finding out my work schedules going to need to be more intense than ususal, and after NOT finishing my other novel this weekend like I'd hoped, I was very close to dropping out of NaNo all together.

However, after some discussion with my betacreature Askita, I think I'm going to continue to do the challenge just in a much different way.

My goal for November: 50,000 words as per the challenge.

However, I'm opening that up to ALL of my writing for this month, be it finishing my novel, Taking Eden, or even fanfiction. My goal is just to write like a fiend and keep track of all of the totals.

*nods* I think I can do this.

Hmm, now I wonder if I should plan some kind of uber prize for myself if I pull it off... *ponders*

I've done that version of NaNo before and it's just as awesome :D You can totally do it!!

I also will happily enable self prize giving >:D

*beams* Yeah, I think I just want to challenge myself pacewise as opposed to strictly story wise. Cuz while Taking Eden will be a blast, it's not anything I'm really pushed or driven to do. That was half my problem with the other NaNo way - that I didn't have a story/concept that I desperately wanted to work on ya know?

And whoo! Enable away! Bribery, even self-bribery works!

yeah I do. Which is why I am just pushing myself to do ANYTHING on my WIPs. and if I should get into a groove and get a lot done? then I am fine!

But really, I don't want to commit to the time it takes to do a full on NaNo pace. I've got this sort of fledgling social life I'd rather not squash XD and while SOME weekends I can totally get away with "nope! gonna sit around and write", it's not great all month especially when december is kind of a wash.

I played hermit to finish up the Big Bangs (and rocked out close to 90k, and the better part of 40k was in that last month so...)

plus I have christmas projects to do! Projects which involve painting at least for the parentals. I can't write and do that at the same time.

I've taken the stance that I've written a number of upper 30k stories a couple 50s and a whopping 70k, so NaNo is just an excuse for me to focus my free time on writing, so ANY progress is good progress, even if it is just making worldbuilding notes :D

edit: total big bang wordcount was just under 94k

Good idea.

There's a mininano running concurrent with the regular nano which might be perfect if you want to have something to benchmark

I'm tempted, but since I'm going for the full wordcount I think I'm good with the full NaNo.

And all that conversation over approx fifteen texts. We know each other so well. *beams*

I think that a DVD purchase is in order... Captian America came out... or Thor or... maybe an Avengers Movie Fest?

LOL so true.

And that's definitely the direction I'm thinking I'll go in. Just totally not sure what I'll be craving. I may leave it at "unspecified TV boxset" and see what I want by the end of the month lol.
