The Weekend Ahead - AKA the Caity To-Do List

So I have FINALLY finished up round one of edits on Proxy and sent copies out to my two beta readers and my mom-the-english-teacher, and that means I actually have free time again.

Or... well... semi-free time. Ish?

Anyway! I have plans and things to accomplish this weekend, and as posting my to-do list seemed to help motivate me last time, I'm thinking it sounds like a plan!

1. Put in more part-time applications. I really need to get my debt in order, so I really need to do this (and possibly get a room mate). Honestly if I work my ass off, I can get it all paid down in less than a year. I just need to get in gear and DO IT. I've already applied to a few places but keep getting the "overqualified" crap back. Seriously - why do people care if I have a degree but am still willing to work for minimum wage? Anyway, I'm applying at:
-Lowes
-Cinemark
-HEB
-Target
-Kohls

2. Start trying to actually plot on my hetbang Gamble/Letty fic. My utter lack of plot has really made this hetbigbang a lot more intimidating than last year's was. I just didn't have a freaking clue on what needed to happen between these two beyond snarking and sexy times. I had a lucky break earlier though when irony_rocks put the idea of a doing a 5-Times fic into my head. I figured out a while back with the Tinman fandom that I can manage a vaguely chronological story series pretty well. I just have to settle on the theme for the 5 Times/Things, and I think I would be in business.

That said - any ideas for what that 5 Times theme could be?  - with a vaguely hetfocused theme if possible lol.

3. Get caught up on work. Overtime is never my favorite thing on a Saturday but we are freaking swamped and I missed 5 hours today while I got my AC repaired. So yeah, first thing in the morning.

4. Try to get some progress in my yard on the flower beds I'm planning. Frankly I just need to do ANYTHING progress wise. It may only be finally getting the edging in the ground so I know what shape I'm going to have to clear out. I just need to do something ya know?

OK so the list isn't actually as long as I thought it was... I guess it's just that each part has either large blocks of time I have to dedicate to them, or else lots of little steps to work with. We'll see what I can manage aye?

Am having the same problem as you with jobs. And often there is a job I really like, but it says 'those with tertiary qualifications need not apply'...

I know right? At this point I'm leaving all my college education info out of most of my applications. I think there's only one I'm leaving it in, and only cuz they want 10 years of job experience and part of mine was working AT the college. *headdesk*

I love 5 times fic. You could always do some kind of AUs where they should have met?

Or, and this comes from me watching s bit of The Transporter the other day, could Hetty be like Frank Martin and has to get Gamble from one place to the other and naturally, he's got people following him, so car chases and shenanigans ensue? You could put them in different places all over the world?

Tell me you've seen the Transporter, btw. :D

I talked with the betaluv last night and I think we figured out the rough theme is going to be "5 Times Letty Survived Massive Heartache... And the One Time Brian Gamble Didn’t Break Her Heart (Much to Everyone’s Surprise)"

I can play with all kinds of different heartache and still have the feel of a connecting timeline.. I think? lol

And yes I've seen the Transporter and both sequels. Sheesh who did you think you were asking? lol

Oh oh oh oh oh!!! Tell me you have seen the new Bourne trailer.. I think I've watched it 10 times so far. Gah why isn't this movie out yet???

I think I'm going to actually alternate from her POV to his for different sections to give us time in both their heads. Should be fun as the personalities will be totally different in a lot of ways lol.

Sadly the 450 words or so I had already written are prolly useless now, but at least it's only 450 instead of the 3k or so that I ended up having to scrap from the last het bang lol.

*grins* Not that my taste in ridiculously over the top action movies was predictable right? lol
