As stolen from dear [livejournal.com profile] seren_ccd in hopes of keeping me amused in between tasks at work:

~~Ask me a fandom-related question in the comments. This can be fandom specific, general, or about fandom/lj stuff/fic writing/etc. in general. Questions can be as wacky as you want. Ask me about tv shows, characters, fanfic in general, fandom issues/meta, anything about any of my stories specifically. Whatever you want.~~

Oh god TOTALLY missing it! Like what good does the Canada version do for us anyway? WE STILL HAVE NO CLOSURE!!!

*pouts* Personally aside from the kissing that dear god needed to happen yesterday between the Stoic!Soldier and the Tech!Kitten, I would have loved to see more of the postapocalypse eps or hell alternate universes so maybe we could get some of our dearly departed back to life and confused as hell lol. Not likely even if we did get it back, but it's my wishlist right??? I needed more scruffy!Stephen in my life, and Sarah looked to be SUCH fun. Le sigh...

Hrm. So. Why is Jason Walsh such TERRIBLE cook?

Also. Can you imagine Aaron Cross living some sort of normal life? Or semi normal at least' What would have to happen for him to achieve that?

I think part of Jason being such a truly awful cook, is that it's one of the few places he allows himself to miss the details. He's trained to notice things constantly, so every so often he allows himself to relax and just shot off that part of himself so he can zone out. Unfortunately for his friends/family, that time seems to be when he's cooking. So he forgets to buy ingredients, or to heat things all the way through, or just what flavors actually taste normal together lol. And he lived on crappy roadside food while traveling in the Minors - so really ANYTHING is edible to him lol.

And god, I wish I could say yes... I really REALLY do, but I don't ever see it happening. He just has no frame of reference to ever manage it being more than an act or a mission. If he'd been like Jason and had a relatively normal life prior to the program then maybe - but he was Kenneth and never lived anything like normal.

I just think there are some behavoirs/habits you have to develop over time, and he just never did. He WANTS to, god bless him, he want to bad, but it's something he just doesn't get. Like him talking almost to the point of babble even when it clearly makes whoever is around him uncomfortable. He doesn't know where those boundaries really are, and that's so hard to figure out without experience at it.

hee, I've seen only four eps, but I somehow have a feeling Jason (sometimes) cooks inedible stuff on purpose. I have to see the rest to judge properly. he's such interesting character - I love him even more now when I know he's based on my favorite M*A*S*H character.

I ... can imagine Aaron living something that's semi normal. Oh, he'll always be strange, he'll analyze things into infinity, he'll notice things nobody else does, and he'll always be a light sleeper. He'll always wonder if something is home, even if (when) he stops running (I am.... sort of working on something like that, where he gets that). To me he's like "I am back here again. Do I really belong here? These walls are familiar, I know this space, is this how other people feel?" so he constantly thinks about things other people take for granted, but he does appreciate them.

This is a Bourne/Avengers/MI 4/Unusuals crossover. Where four same looking guys are result of an experiment. After Fury and SHIELD and Ethan Hunt are done chewing and spitting Outcome out (I have such delightfully evil plan about how that will be done!) Marta and Aaron will remain working for SHIELD. Which isn't a normal life, but for two of them, after being on the run for ten-ish months (and everything before that) it's a twist in the direction of normalcy.

Want preview? I'll post this to my writing journal after I'm done with it, but it's a story... after "how it all gets solved" story.

Uh, anyway, Aaron likes to think. A LOT.

*

There's nothing normal about this.

He has the luxury of dragging his feet down the hall, and carrying himself to some place where he'll get a decent rest. It doesn't matter that this place is part insanely amazing five star hotel, part science lab, it's a place. It's the same place every time. A solid location he can come back to when the mission is done, where he can rest his head and fall asleep. It's strange, because he was used to everything different, new; he kept adjusting and readjusting without any indication when it would end.

And then it did.

The space around him is familiar. Even the sound of artificial intelligence butler, as Barton calls it, is somehow nice. There's an apartment, and even though he still feels like a guest (and Tony Stark insists that he isn't), there's a warm shower, there's a bed, there is Marta.

The apartment is empty right now. It's evening and he guesses she is with the others, which isn't far away.

“JARVIS?” he calls. This is still strange, but he'd seen stranger things. Still, the computer is always present, always helpful, and it's a good thing, he decides.

“Yes, Sir?” the voice is always polite, if that can even be said about artificial intelligence. However being a 'Sir' isn't something he's going to get used to easily. He chuckles lightly.

“Where is Doctor Shearing?” he asks and looks around the room, he almost always expects a holograph of an English butler to appear from somewhere. He isn't sure why he refers to Marta like that, it just seems right to use that honourable title, and he does it. She likes it, he knows how much it means to her, so he uses it.

“Doctor Shearing is at Agant Barton's apartment, Sir,” the computer answers and Aaron thanks him, because it feels right that way, to return politeness with politeness. He leaves his backpack and goes into the bedroom to change his clothes, and when he crosses the doorstep he just stops – because it smells like peace and sleep and her. He just stands there for several moments and inhales what he knows as home.

He thinks as he picks up clean jeans and shirt. He always thinks. It's training, and it's perhaps a compensation for all the years when he wasn't able to think this much. Barton's apartment is the highest one in the building, and he'll go there, because Barton is like family, in this strange sort of way. Their blood is too similar to be ignored, and their personal histories aren't that far apart either. Marta is often there when he's not home – he stops just a little to let that word roll over his mind, poke around it and consider how it feels, and he thinks how it still doesn't belong to him completely, but it's close.

What do you tink would really happen if the Avengers learned about John Grimm. In particular I mean: How would John and Clint get along. How would Sam and Natasha?

LOL
