Fandom Stocking Bummer...

So apparently Fandom Stocking is only happening over at Dreamwidth this year, and I think after the lack of anything that I did on my Kink Bingo cuz it was hosted over there, I'm just going to bow out. I just can't keep focused on more than one journal at a time. It just doesn't work.

So yeah I'm bummed and this could easily have turned into a rant about all the things that really irritate me about Dreamwidth ,but I'm trying to avoid that.

I just think I can't focus on that many things at once. It's like now that I've discovered AO3 I think I've been on FFN all of 3 times... and my Deviantart page is hella neglected since I was dragged over to LJ in the first place lol.

Mostly I think if I ever actually leave LJ for dreamwidth, I'm going to actually LEAVE LJ FOR DREAMWIDTH if you know what I mean. None of the identical journals in 2 places thing. It just doesn't make sense to my brain lol

But I am bummed about fandom stocking and kink bingo. Oh well. Sacrifices lol.

I've considered DW but I found with the whole Tumblr fail, I really can't keep up several blogs and still have time to write, have other hobbies, and y'know, actually do my salary-paying job. So I've just avoided it.

I'm also too damn lazy to update my old ff.net account with new stories since I prefer AO3, because of the general story quality and how much easier editing something is there.

Sorry to hear you're being cut out of something you'd really like to do, though, by not being on DW. :(

You and me are the opposite because I feel more comfortable at DW with people (and less eye strain) and so I'm behind on stuff at LJ. :D

I will miss you at Fandom_Stocking, though.

At least what is nice about Dreamwidth is that if you do want to participate, you don't have to have an account. You can comment with OpenID. You'd just need to bookmark the Dreamwidth community for F_S.

For the purposes of fandom_stocking, I am okay with DW. I love doing it every year anyway, and truthfully, I just think of DW as LJ's pesky younger brother anyway.

I hear ya.

Much as I would love to get little written presents from people, even though I have a DW account, I can't really bring myself to participate in fandom stocking because at the moment I'm struggling just to be motivated enough to write my damned Yuletide fic.
