The Works In Progress Meme - Fanfiction Version

... AKA my Writing Goals for 2013!  (And yes there will be an original fiction version which will be posted to that filter).

Post the first sentence (or three) from every WIP you're currently working on, even if it's very short. Then invite people to ask questions about your WIPs. With any luck, the motivation to take that WIP one step closer to completion will appear as if by magic!

Projected total wordcount: Probably at least 50k? I'm not even to the planetwide night-fall yet, so there's a long way to go I fear.
Goal: to finish
Doability: High

I am not awake.

I'm not awake, and this is a dream. It must be. While yes, even someone as sheltered as I once was has heard the horror stories about men more animal than man whose primitive sides stayed awake and aware in cryo-sleep, but they are only that: stories. No one really stays conscious during cryo-sleep. It isn't possible.

It cannot be possible.

No, I must be dreaming, though this is as vivid as few of my dreams have ever been. It is so very real. I almost feel I could reach out and touch the chamber around me. Not that I will.

So be it. There is little else to do while I sleep away this journey. I suppose I shall allow myself to dream.

Projected total wordcount: Maybe 25,000 if that? I think I'm over halfway done at this point. Ish.

Doability: High - Cat Cheshire has proven to be an able plot device and I really think I'm gearing up for the climax of the fic anyway!

The King of Hearts strode into the laboratory, stifling a cringe at the bare white room.

"You sent for me?"

"Yes, Sire. We have found him."

"Are you sure?"

"Of course."

"Very well, then. Bring him in."

"Rabbit-hole is locked on. Initializing in 10...9...8..."

Projected total wordcount: Not a clue on this one - I'm still not as good with action so those scenes will be hard to gague. Plus since the the movie is cut into multiple POVs and I'm sticking close to one group only so I can't really figure out time that way. We shall see.
Goal: to finish
Doability: High - I'm following the movie which helps guide the plot for me. Less effort lol.

The two women didn't speak as they pounded up flight after flight of stairs, panting and puffing and all but whimpering at the horrific groaning sound of the monsters clamoring up behind them. Dannie clung to the stair rail, dragging herself up it and trying to land as gently as possible on the metal stairs in an attempt to protect her stocking-clad feet. She'd had shoes when she'd left her office, rather cute little mules actually, but when Tess had come screaming down the hall with the crowd of freaks right behind her, Dannie had kicked her shoes off immediately to run. It just wasn't worth keeping them; not when every little bit of speed and agility might mean staying alive. She needed all the help she could get frankly; she was in decent shape, but she'd never been a runner. That had actually been their reason for heading for the stairs: Dannie had hoped the climb might be a bit of a challenge for the shuffling things behind them. It had worked to a point... but only to a point.

YES, MORE WONDERLAND!!!! It's a great fix it, with Stephen being one of the Harts of Wonderland (excellent idea), and I love the crazy things Cat does (especially when she spots a pillow *G*)

I'm really looking forward to seeing Nick and the rest of the team in Wonderland, and what their reactions will be to it and to Stephen, and whether Stephen will want to stay in Wonderland...
