So I know it's a little earlier than usual this year, but I figured if I want time to actually accomplish these, I should probably get it up early!

That and [livejournal.com profile] deathmallow re-posted, which reminded me to do this lol.

But yeah - yall know the drill:

Dear Flist,

Halloween is coming!!!

Comment "trick-or-treat" to this post and...well, you know the drill. Treats can be anything that strikes my fancy (pics of fave actors or pairings, one sentence fics, graphics, a few words why I'm glad to have you on my flist, etc. etc.). The more "houses" to visit the more fun it'll be, so go ahead, open your journal and help spread the fun!

**If you leave me a list of fandoms you're into (or two or three fandoms, at least), that would be very helpful! Thanks!

Since crossovers/fusions seemn to be a theme for you and I - I thought I would try one. Here's hoping if works for you!

Mornin' on The Mockingjay

At the sound of shouts and heavy boots clanging on the deck above his bunk, Haymitch groaned and rolled over to bury his face in his pillow. It was far too early in the sleep cycle and far, far too early in the course of his hangover for the children to be up and posturing.

Most days, he and his second agreed that taking on the trio as crew had been a damned good idea. Peeta and Katniss bore similar scars to those he and Johanna carried, and Gayle was hell of a wiz a teasing good behavior out of The Mockingjay’s engines. That didn’t mean the ongoing challenge between the boys to try desperately to impress Katniss didn’t annoy the ever loving shit out of him.

Katniss, bless her, didn’t seem to give two shits about the pair of lackluster suitors most days – she was just thrilled to be flying and out of Capitol patrol ranges. Still, it might have saved Haymitch half a dozen headaches if she could settle on one or the other of the idiots. ‘Course, in reality, he thought the aftermath of that decision would bring even more strife. Neither one of the boys was likely to just roll over and let the other “win.” No matter that Katniss was growing independent enough not to appreciate anyone ignoring her choices.

Regardless of what was or was not taking place between Katniss and either/both of the boys, Haymitch did not want to hear about that shit after a night of drinking. The clamor reached another level, and beside him, Johanna growled and tried to burrow closer, as if Haymitch’s chest could blow out the commotion.

“Think we can sick Finnick on ‘em?” she begged softly, clearly not wanting to even admit she was awake. Haymitch considered it – the former Companion could be plenty convincing when he wanted, but…

“Be better if’n it were Annie,” he mused, and Johanna chuckled darkly. The little waif Finnick had smuggled on board had turned out to be quite the welcome addition to their crew. Just this side of crazy and with more hand-to-hand training that even Johanna had come out of the Arena with, Annie wasn’t one to annoy.

And now that she was pregnant? Well, safe to say her hormones made her even deadlier. Haymitch did a little mental calculating on just how long it would take the growing cacophony to reach the shuttle.

“Just wait for it…” Sure enough there was a sudden slam of the shuttle door being thrust open, and then, a beautiful kind of horrified silence followed by a series of yelps and Katniss’s rare bark of laughter. Then all was quiet again. “Knew keepin’ the little bit on would be a good idea.”

Johanna just snorted and burrowed her way back under his pillow. All was right in the Verse – at least for a little while.

Awww, I really like this! Especially the whole, "Nah, it'll take care of itself...wait for it..." So Haymitch. :D

*grin* Glad you liked it! I had to headtilt a bit to try to put some of the characters I'm most familiar with into these roles (especially as I don't write or spend a whole lot of time in the THG fandom), but I was happy with the way it came out.

Hey pretty my brain is just missing right now and I can't seem to pull off anything off the top of my head. Want to toss me prompts and characters for MCU or Primeval? (I really don't feel as comfy with THG).

OK ended up able to work with that though it's rambly as hell. Hope you like it anyway!

Like Storms Inside Us

It’s strange how their most vital moments seem to happen during storms. Phil found Clint in the middle of a rainstorm (Clint only every blamed the slippery footing for his capture when he was in a particularly obnoxious mood – the rest of the time he was willing to admit he’d been ready to be brought in). It had been storming too, the day that they finally stumbled into bed for the first time, both soaked to the skin after a successful op, but high on the feeling of a near-perfect partnership and trust like Clint had never known. Clint nearly blew that trust during another dreary gray day; instead of firing on the red headed target who’d eluded authorities for years, Clint left his perch and climbed down to meet the battered and emotionally exhausted young woman. The later thunder had seemed a perfect soundtrack to the tension-filled conversation that had followed when Clint had brought her back to the safe house and Phil. Natasha was like a flash of lightning from sky to earth, tying the three of them into a seamless, if tumultuous and often dangerous, whole. Still, neither Phil nor Clint has it in them to fear that storm.
