Please don’t stress about this assignment. Just the fact that you are writing for any of these awesome pairings in the first place will make me ridiculously happy. Also, I just love gifts in general, so I’ll be chuffed to get a prize of any shape and size. I know this letter is ridiculously long as again I love these fandoms, but don’t let that scare you off.
If none of the prompts/like list work for you, feel free to ignore them and just write what makes you happy.
The only thing I do ask is that my No-Thanks list please be avoided.
No Thanks: Heavy angst (fic exchanges tend to be a happy place for me so I prefer to get happy fics), slave worlds, demon-possession, mind control, prostitution, noncon, dubcon, character death, infidelity, love triangles/jealousy focus (I am far more fond of OT3ing it up), characters de-aged during the story (if you make one of the characters a child, make them “canon” children for that story if that makes sense), A/B/O, gangster/mob, noir settings, amnesia fics, loss of limb/amputations, mpreg, underage, gender swap (except for the alwaysagirl!Merlin prompt below), teacher/student stories, or focus on drug abuse or alcoholism. Please no 2nd person or 1st person POVs (enjoyed them in the past - just not in the mood this year).
For M-rated fics, for triggering reasons I have to shy away from knife play/blood play/gun play (only in a sexual context – canon level plot/action violence is fine), scat, watersports, rape-as-fantasy-scenes, anal for M/F pairings, and any kind of direct blow in a sexual connotation even including spanking/flogging.
Yes Please!: Post-apocalypse fic, slice of life/domestic fic, epistolary stories, teamfics, found family, outsider POVs, supernatural elements, badass chicks and men who respect/lust after them for it, OT3s, fixit fics to bring back killed off characters, fics where characters have kids and are adorable parents, 5 and 1 style fics.
I’m definitely OK with an M-rating, and for smutty fics, I particularly love dirty talk, a clear top ordering their bottom around, hair-pulling, restraint i.e.: ropes/shibari/handcuffs/holding partner down, wall sex, shower sex, cramped vehicular sex, biting/marking (without major blood being drawn), mate bonds, “OMG we didn’t die” sex, and “sharing body heat” leading to sex.
BTW, while normally I'm all about crossovers/AUs, I'd really like to stick with these individual fandom canons for this round. I just love the individual worlds here so much - I'm totally in the mood for stories grounded in their particular setting this time :)
Derek Morgan/Penelope Garcia (Criminal Minds)
Just a heads up: they are 100% my Criminal Minds OTP to the point that it was hard for me to watch once her canon guy came into the picture. I just love their banter back and forth and the way Derek has such a protective instinct when it comes to Penelope. I would love absolutely anything with these two, just as long as we get their banter and fun. These two are totally a happy place for me lol.
A random super specific (and obviously not required) prompt just because someone mentioned it recently: a Guide!Penelope/Sentinel!Derek fic would seriously make me squee like a lunatic. No really – just consider the possibilities!
Henry Foss/Ashley Magnus (Sanctuary)
This show was just a laundry list of all the things I love best in fic, from the badass ladies, to the cryptids/Abnormals, to the Steampunk details showing up in Helen’s history and all of Henry’s tech. Just too much fun!
This is definitely another one where I ship it like Fedex. All through the first season I hoped this pairing might end up happening. Henry was so blatantly crushing on his young buddy, but never pushed at her, and I really liked that aspect to their relationship. Plus I thought they made a really interesting partnership with her being the one physically stronger at first glance, but only because he chose not to embrace the physical side of his shape shifting. Plus courtship through fun weaponry just made me smile.
I’d been good with a pre-Ashley’s abduction fic or an AU where she survived or was found alive. Mostly I just want to see these two being adorable together.
Don’t be too intimidated by the overly-shippy prompt, though. I’d be great with Abnormal Hunter!Bros with these two, as well.
Abigail Ashe/Billy Bones (Black Sails)
So I actually updated my sign up at the last minute because Black Sails has utterly taken over my life. No really, I marathoned it over the course of a single weekend, and it’s slid into place as one of my top 10 TV shows ever. Ever I tell you!
My favorite character beyond a doubt is Billy Bones. Not only is Tom Hopper stupidly attractive (those arms are a legitimate problem), but everything about the character is just played so well. Basically he’s a total Hufflepuff who is 1000% over everyone else’s BS. He’s loyal to a fault to his brothers on the crew, and his only ruthlessness comes out when protecting the crew as a whole, or in battle, which I think he still overall sees as protecting the others. He’s intelligent – one of the few lettered men among his crew and really most of the pirate population, and that juxtaposition with the warrior in him just fascinates me.
I was a bit bummed throughout the first season and first half of the second that they never gave us a romance for him, so I was thrilled when Abigail showed up on the scene. A complete contrast to the other women on the show in that she’s still very much a proper gentlewoman, the kind that even Miranda never really was. She’s young and sheltered, and understandably naïve, but despite it, still manages to hold her own. She has a quiet, but remarkable strength of will, I think. Abigail saw the very worst of the pirates on the Fancy, the kind that would reinforce every story her father ever told her, and yet, she still is willing to open her eyes to the men behind the monsters once aboard ship with Flint’s crew. She’s survived horrors by the end of her short arc on the show, and it’s clear it’s starting to give her a backbone. She unflinchingly confronts her father, and I have to respect her for that.
As far as these two together, there was clearly a fascination on Abigail’s side when Billy appeared, and he seemed intrigued by her as well (multiple double-takes, guys – multiple double-takes). There seemed like there could be a chance for more interaction there that was sadly passed by. I mean really, Miranda thought it was adorable, and even Flint seemed to ship it a bit (if only so it would add to Abigail’s good opinion of the crew as a whole). I’d just love to see more interaction between them. In particular, I think the story line left us in a great place to have them bump into each other later – Abigail will eventually need to get back to London, and the seas clearly aren’t the safest place. Maybe Flint and his crew chance upon her on her trip home during a raid. Another fun option could be an AU where Billy really was one of the men she comes across back in London – who might he have been if he was never taken? Who knows – the possibilities are endless!
BTW, I am keeping up with the current episodes, so no worries about spoilers!
Hermione Granger/Severus Snape (Harry Potter)
After Alan Rickman’s recent passing, there was no possible way that I could avoid requesting this pairing when I saw it was offered. The snarky mental equals May/December romance is one of my bullet-proof relationship kinks. It just so totally makes me happy to find awesome fic for these two.
That said, as I mentioned in my “No Thanks” list above, I really would prefer not to have a Teacher/Student story for these two (too many family members teaching to ever be able to forget that these relationships can ruin a teacher’s career forever – just can’t do it), and underage also isn’t something I’m fond of. Also, please avoid the Ron/Hermione marriage as I prefer adultery not be front and center either.
Gah I know this sounds like the pairing that I don’t like anything for, but I promise that’s not the case! But really, I’d love to see these two falling for each other as adults, whether it’s collaborating on a potion or as teachers at Hogwarts (because OBVIOUSLY HE SURVIVED – firmly everybody!lives over here lol). An epistolary romance could be a lot of fun too: it could start as mutual annoyances or Howlers and slowly turns into scholastic discussions and finally to admissions of love on paper.
Finn/Rey/Poe Dameron (Star Wars: The Force Awakens)
Oh the OT3 of my heart right here! I saw on Tumblr a post that called them the “Finnimon Roll, Rey of Sunshine, and Poe Hot Damneron” and that was possibly the most accurate fandom thing I’ve seen in weeks. Weeks I tell you!
I know it’s not terribly helpful, but I’d be game for absolutely anything for these three as long as it’s relatively non-angsty or at least angsty with a happy ending w/hurt/comfort or something. Honestly, the thought of the three of them making each other smile just makes me so darned HAPPY that I would just love to have fic where they get to be happy too.
Merlin/Percival (Merlin)
Oh hey another Tom Hopper request? What a surprise LOL – I can’t help it: he’s apparently my new fandom boyfriend, and I’m OK with that.
As you can probably tell from my other requested pairings, I really read more het than slash. Thus, I’d really love an alwaysagirl!Merlin for this pairing if you don’t mind. Mostly, it’s to accommodate my massive height kink when it comes to Tom Hopper – a small girl having to literally climb him like a tree for kisses just pushes all of my buttons in the best way. Also, his lack of sleeves appeals to me on all levels, and I imagine it did to most of the ladies (and gents) in the castle too LOL. Not to mention, the ready smile we get from him constantly makes me sigh – if Billy Bones is 1000% done with your bullshit, Percival is 100% ready to grin about something, and I’d love to see that befuddling femme!Merlin a bit.
Honestly, this is just a super slash-heavy fandom, and I’d love to get some het for it that features my fave knight.
That said, I’m definitely not anti-slash (I mean I read for this fandom so I kinda can’t be LOL), so if girl!Merlin isn’t your thing, don’t feel like you have to. I really love Percival’s gentle giant competency paired with Merlin’s occasional clumsiness and innate goodness – so as long as we have that take center stage, I’m on board.
